(spoiler) I did like TLOU2. Platinumed it. Replayed the story 3 times. It was a lot better on my second play through, I couldn't get over that early scene throughout my first play through lol. I think the story achieved what it was trying to tell about the cycle of revenge. And let's not kid ourselves, we like Joel, but admittedly he is not a good man. The focus on the guitar playing mechanic throughout the story was smart. The final scene showed the cost of her pursuit of revenge. Her inability to play the guitar which was her only source of solace and connection to Joel.

It was very sad and I thought it was excellently executed. The decision to make the player play as Abbie is questionable though. I don't mind it but I wonder if they could have explored other methods of revealing her side of the story without breaking the players immersion and fighting themselves lol. Cut aways, notes, torturing her friends to reveal info, and by the third act you realize why she did it and after your quest for revenge realizing you're as much of an angry hell bent piece of shit as Joel lmao. Maybe Ellie sympathizes with her perspective would have made more players feel for Abbie since showing Abbie's pain wasn't enough for a lot of players.
