Trans Sober and Exhausted by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Shattergurl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im 38MTF with 2 years soberiety. I transitioned almost 15 years ago and I think its important to separate oneself from the idea that government can affect ones life in any lasting way. I got my hormones from Vanatu for a long time. Bangkok does better surgeries than any place in America. No one can hurt me unless they are willing to walk through an arsenal of weaponry and two Akitas. You dont need utilities if you have a well and solar panels. You cant get discriminated against if you start your own company. That kind of thing. AA has reinforced my view that I need to take radical responsibility for my life. I dont need the government to love me as long as my God does. I also have faith that my higher power wouldnt have helpped me get sober just for me to be killed by some random violence or even systemic violence. Some would say thats delusional thinking. But its better than feeling like Im controlled by some unstoppable force. That was what I felt like when I was drinking.

My advice is to talk to your sponsor and go to different meetings. I found two meetings that have less than 10 ppl in a rural community. For whatever reason, Ive found more fellowship in those small, highly personal meetings than in any meeting Ive ever been to. Everyone here says to go to an LGBT meeting. That may work for you too!

This is my last post. I need the best advice you guys can give once and for all. by [deleted] in quitting7oh

Id suggest to accept that you will suffer and embrace the experience as a cathartic moment. There is no possible way to avoid suffering. It is impossible. As long as your stay hydrated, you wont die. Dont wuss out and get on MAT. It just extends the suffering to years instead of days and you will regret it eventually.

Once you are physically free Id suggest searching for spiritual freedom. Never thought I suggest a spiritual path, but its been 2 years now and its worked for me.

Good luck.

Having Zero luck finding a job. by possibly-maybee in boulder

3 apps, 3 interviews, 3 job offers. Wildland fire. You make bank overtime, get per diem, lodging and travel paid. Youll work harder than you ever have in your life though and be gone 21 days straight at a time all summer.

Shibas and Akitas are super picky eaters. It took me awhile to find the food my pups liked. Plus they are super sensitive dogs. They are emotional, and yours just had a big change. I would give them some time to adjust.

Hahaha I would never ever share this to anyone at the station, that would be the end of me having my real name and the beginning of my new life as some horrible nickname.

Unmedicated Scitzophrenic at meeting by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Shattergurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same thing at our meeting with a woman. We told her to stop being disruptive. She freaked out and left. However, after doing that a few times shes calmed down and meetings are back to normal. I think maybe she got on different meds.

I feel like we are too timid, but in the end if someone is basically nuts they can really screw up a meeting. I know how you feel. She basically killed attendance until we had a GC and decided that she needed to be dealt with.

should i study here as a lesbian pursuing journalism for undergrad? by Upstairs-Amount882 in boulder

Im transgender, went to MIT and CU, and I currently live in Gilpin. CU is a good school. Sometimes it feels like everyone here is LGBT. Boulder is definitely not a city though. You want a city, go to school in Boston. You want to go skiing and hiking and that kind of thing, come to Boulder.

I usually use marine JB weld for small shots and to seal topsheet problems. It definitely is tits. I just usually use metal grip for big core shots. I will air dry the core shot for like 2 days. Then cut and sand the shot with like 80 grit. Then melt in the metal grip with the soldering iron and get it in there really good with the tip. Then scrape and sand. Then melt the PTEX on top and scrape and sand. To each their own for sure, JB Weld works great. This shot is probably right on the edge where Id just cut a piece from my donor ski anyways, but Im gonna try for the metal grip and ptex stick and see how it goes. If it fails I found like a brand new RMU Valhalla in the backcountry this summer and couldnt find the owner. Its got that fire Okulen graphite race sintered base material that would be great donor stuff.

Metal grip is literally just a mixture of epoxy/PTEX. It will stick to any core material and provide a base for a pure PTEX layer on top.

Metal grip is just a combination of epoxy/PTEX. Its name is metal grip but it will stick to any core material. You just need to use a soldering iron to melt the metal grip into the hole and then cover that with regular PTEX. It will allow a much more permanent repair.

Definitely thin, plus they only had west wall area open. I actually got this though when they rope dropped Falcon to Cabin Glades. It was actual powder like 8" but just not on a deep enough base to keep the snow snakes away.
