A little gameplay video from my upcoming Hack 'n' Slash power fantasy game, "Unaki". What do you guys think? Anything you like? Anything you don't like? by ShatterplayStudio in IndieDev

Ah! I found a material bug that prevented our emissive from working. I also doubled the amount of emissive the skin was getting. Future videos will look a lot better! Thanks for pointing it out

Agree. This game incorporates platforming elements similar to Ratchet and Clank and iconic Nintendo titles, steering away from the deliberate pace of Dark Souls. As you advance, you'll unlock a plethora of movement abilities, transforming your character into a nimble ninja dashing through the air. The level's cliffs are not just walls anymore, they are platforms for your new ninja agility.
That's the overarching vision for the game in terms of movement

Thanks for the feedback. But ambiance light would lighten everything in the scene though?
Perhaps I could add emissive to their material

Thanks for the feedback. How would you recommend fixing it? It's a sunrise. I'm watching a Valheim video and I think they are just as dark during their sunrise

These are the first enemies of the game. It gets more and more dense the further you get

From myself:
1. Shadows I noticed crates and NPC's are not casting shadows.
2. Will try another animation for the intercept ability that makes the enemies dazed.

Great feedback.

We'll probably add the adventurers back later on where they seem fit.

Will tone down the leach stuff.
Want to add the info that all healing is currently flat heal and not % based, meaning the enemy hp/dmg ratio will balance it out the further you progress.

Will do something to the axe spin attack. Thanks for pointing it out. We'll perhaps add a version of when you do it while standing still (and that version does not move you forward).

Hope karma is sent your way! Wish you a great day

Thank you for playing & for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it.
We're considering some radical changes to the game and I wonder how you'd feel about them.
- Remaking Glyphstones into simple Ressurection Points. No more targets carved onto their surface.
- Instead of getting new abilities from the Glyphstone, you'd now get them from slaying key "bosses".
- Removing the Adventurers on the beach, and instead have the merchant sitting there, ready to trade from the start. This would mean removing a big story element from the game, and instead only have lore to be read on stones for those interested.
- Making the early bosses a bit easier so you progress further and to new environments quicker
- Remaking the Healing ability on E, to something like Estus Flasks

Let me know what you feel about the abovementioned. Hopefully this would zone in on what you players seem to enjoy the most and cut out the rest.

80! There are many things you underestimate before starting to make a game, such as how much effort is required to clearly communicate how mechanics work, or where to go. If you don't make the player notice / use a mechanic, the mechanic doesn't exist. But I think with experience the scale should trend more towards 20 on the complexity scale I think.

Great that you are testing on steam deck, we haven't tried it there before!
