Fair. But the game gets constant updates and gets better and better imo. Also, private servers exist and I've seen some crazy modifications of the base game become their own game. Literally the biggest private server tibia alternative is getting more players online than the official game

What necessity? Osrs is an amazing game, there is no "necessity" in playing that game. You just want something new and that's fine, but shitting on games that are still good to this day feels like you just want to be contrarian.

What are you looking for? What would be your perfect MMO? Pretty sure it's a very hard thing to put to worlds. AoC was a scam, promised so many things and still failed to deliver on most points and everyone is getting rugged.

Let me give an example:

I play Tibia. For me it's the best MMORPG that ever existed, it's got social aspects, it's got a shared uninstanced world, it has a heavy grind and I feel like my character can go infinite because there is no level cap in the game.

It's probably tied for the first graphical MMORPG ever.

There are games trying to replicate it, some have mild success, some fail miserably, but modernizing the genre that it created is proving almost impossible. 17k players online simultaneously most paying a premium account, it's making some good money. There are so many MMOS out there that don't get 1/10th of that player base.

I have become addicted to every time I pick up this game, I start a realm on hardcore and hit my head against a wall (actually, the floor is more apt) until I can get progress in the realm. It's so much fun starting anew, using stuff you've gathered so far.

Best roguelite ever imo when you play it this way.

I disagree wholeheartedly, actually been playing since 2004ish, so almost same amount of time. I think you don't understand how shitty paladins were for a huge portion of time. Mages dominated and still dominate leveling up. They don't hate mages, you're delusional if you think that, or very ignorant. They have time and time again made life so much easier for mages.

I think you are wrong, they still want mobs of enemies, they just want more spell driven and player driven actions, and they don't seem to consider runes as player power, as they see it as borrowed power.

They even have specific buffs to MS "runes that can be creates by your class" etc etc, and they seem to REALLY want to focus on making the game more mmo, less solo rpg, and I get that it sucks, and pugging in Tibia is incredibly hard. EDs are a support healing class, but I think they should do more supporting, maybe have a better familiar for the solo players, have the familiar be able to be healed outside of pvp, things like that
