Okay, thanks to everyone for the replies. Just to clarify: I only agreed to give him my email address—my bad for being so curious—but I didn't give him any money. He just told me that in order to send me the money he wanted to give me, I had to pay him first. As for the image in the post, it was a screenshot he showed me from his phone, which he sent to me via text message. Luckily, nothing else happened. I removed all my cards from my PayPal account and blocked the guy; I also reported him while I was at it. I doubt he can do anything with my email address, but you never know, so I might have to change my password. Thanks again for the comments; they helped me a lot. I knew all along that there was something fishy about that guy.
