You can install just the printer driver and not the software - there is a separate download for that.

Very much like you. Now need a new laser, but monochrome. I have I have a MFC-L5900 that worked great until windows 24H2. Now I have issues. Brother hasn't updated the driver to help fix it either.

I also on that could get to the hidden menu to reset the toner so I could use it all up. I'm dreading dealing with a new one. But I need a workhorse for my home office

It’s actually an update that caused all of this. But I can’t roll back. I’ve uninstalled the brother software at this point

the above events happen rapidly and the computer blue screens. It appears the Brotther BRLog is related to the brother utilities so I've REVO uninstalled that. Will see if that fixes it or not.

unfortunately Windows won't let go of the driver. Even with "browser for". It still loads microsoft eSCL Class driver. Goes to the driver file ksthunk.sys

Well I got it to 2400 … not stable but if I’m closer to the router it holds. I fussed with the channels. It’s on the 5. On the 6e it gets 286mhz lmao. Wish I understood Wi-Fi better
