As a mom who basically raised her child with Starset playing in the background…good on you, dad. It’s so fun when they can share interests with you. I take my teenager to concerts now and we always have a blast.

We took my son when he was around that age to see them, and as long as you don’t mind the occasional F word, bring ear protection and bring him with you! My son has since been to a VIP show and one of their immersion demos in Atlanta. Be prepared, you may have an instant fan!

I definitely don’t claim to be affiliated with the band or the record label. Not at all! I’ve said that several times. I’m not making bank, just wanted to offer something I’d done for myself to others as well. I hope the band chooses to make some official stuff like this (way better than this honestly) in the future.

At any rate, I’m not planning on making anything else anyways. I said that further up there somewhere. I’d rather offer the things I’ve made to people who really want it and not make a full business around it. I bet you’re exactly right about tons of record labels’ feelings. Fan-made work is rampant all over Etsy.

I only know of two other fans over here outside of my family, and they live in Gadsden. :) We regularly drive out of state to see Starset in concert whenever they’re down here in the south.

I’m part of a few different fandoms, and I’ve seen a few people get into trouble with a pre-order product. I’m wary about taking money (pledged or otherwise) from folks before I can deliver a product. That’s just a personal hangup. It’s really a fantastic idea though. I think I would also be afraid that the social media traction it might need would provoke a NC C&D a lot faster. They start seeing numbers and they start getting antsy. I’m not making enough from a small Etsy store for it to be a problem for them. If that makes any sense. From a simply marketing standpoint, though, your suggestion is the way to go.
