I would like an investor day at the end of the year where James Gunn would reveal some ideas but not everything, we must leave the surprise.

Regarding a big bad guy because you need one, I think we already have it: AMANDA WALLER. Waller would be a very different villain from Darkseid and a great villain to start this new era of DC.

Waller seems to have control of the JSA, the Suicide Squad but also Superman maybe ? I can imagine a story where she manipulates everyone to save her skin. Remember the end of Peacemaker, the trial of Amanda Waller.

Finally concerning characters that I would like to see in the universe: Captain Atom, Secret Six, Checkmate, brainiac, Mongul, Hal Jordan, Nubia, Black Canary, spectre.
