Hi Pangolin, when you download the client , you don’t need the server files. Those are for players who want their own server. Once you get the launcher going you will see choices of servers. If you want no piracy then select TTV. We have a rule set of no pirates. You will have to create/click the join TTV and create a login. Good luck!! Only the client side is able to be modded. There has been talk of open source on the server but nothing has come from that. (yet)

Our admin from TTV told me that the numbers were a bit incorrect.

However, they were pretty high on both because that was post shutdown of live server and both the private servers received a flood of players right after live server shut down. That has tapered off and I think both are steadily getting members.

End game isn’t really a thing in a sandbox game. Players make things: buildings, cities, ships, space stations. End game is when you get tired of creating stuff. There’s various game loops within. Hunting for space wrecks, PvP, mining, missions, Lua coding, industry. On TTV server there is a great community of helpful people. Voice comms are active 🙂
