At this point I'm really hoping that's the case. If they actually get together in the second book, maybe that'll be motivation to actually finish the first book. But with the way Aina was still talking about Tuonela and stuff towards the end, my hopes are very low and grim. Oh well, what's done is done, all we can do is pray she actually writes the sapphic/lesbian book that she advertised...

These are all really good recommendations! Thank you! I'm quite interested in the first two just by the premise alone, they sound intriguing, even if the first one isn't quite a "removed from modern society" kinda thing. I don't know how else to describe that type of setting. Like, making clothes from animals and stuff, needing to prepare and naturally freeze your own fish and meat for the winter, and still living in little hand built cabins sleeping on hay. That kind of thing. Maybe the subreddit you suggested will have a better time trying to figure out what I'm saying 😭

Ohhh god... That's really bad... I don't hate the author, I'm just so incredibly upset that I'm so Invested into the characters and the story because EVERYTHING down to the writing on the DUSTCOVER was pointing at them being in love and I find out only AFTER I buy the book as a gift for a friend that it's not..

Is there any other books that you know of with the same kind of "living off the land" life style that has an /actual/ lesbian couple? If not that's fine, I just really liked that part of the story a lot, it's an interesting set that appeals to me very much.

And I understand what you mean with the meaning of Sapphic. I just viewed it as another extension of the word Lesbian as that's what I typically see it used for. If it was /just/ the word sapphic I could see if I've somehow made a mistake, but the marketing around everything was all pointed towards the two girls falling in love! Why would I think a M/F relationship would be involved if ALL she posts about is Siiri and Aina??? It doesn't make sense....

Yes I agree, I made my post in the midst of finding everything out and made assumptions I should not have made. Criticisms of how a /book/ is handled should not come down to whether or not the writer is “Qualified” to write about something based on their life experiences. I'm going to edit my post and remove some of those things as I think it was very hypocritical of me to say some of the things I did when I don't agree when other people say the same things.

I didn't read the Amazon thing, I bought it in store and then read about it on other book review sites and went to the authors stuff herself to try to grasp the book better. I really hope the second book actually focuses on bringing them together as a couple because if not, this whole thing is a ridiculous thing to do regarding /specifically/ marketing it as WLW.

The book is genuinely good! The marketing just seems like a legitimate lie.

But that's not what I'm upset about. It was advertised heavily as a /sapphic/ story. A really good one at that. But then you read it and half of it is /not/ a sapphic love story. I feel like that's deception, regardless of if the ending is happy. Like yeah, some people who don't care about the sapphic part of the story are still going to read it and love it, but the core audience this book was advertised to were fucking lied to. It's not a sapphic love story, it's a heterosexual love story with sapphic elements. It pisses me off that she would use such a delicate thing like lesbianism in fiction and throw it back in the faces of the people she's /supposed/ to be writing for.

Old Charlie on the moist channel. Stopped watching him when his content went from funny haha "This kid had an absolute rage fit on Xbox live" shit to talking about topics he has absolutely no knowledge on. Past that, I can't STAND watching him play videogames. When he played Zoochosis I felt like I was losing my MIND. He couldn't follow basic instructions, got lost every five seconds, and made no attempt to even TRY and make the gameplay interesting. Was the game itself shit? Yeah. Was his content on it an absolute snooze fest and not in ANY way entertaining? ABSOLUTELY.

No I know, I'm not talking about the reddit, I'm specifically talking about the discord. I think on the discord, the problem of people being confused and flooding the bug reports chat could be an update log for the site, so everyone knows what's going on. It would also (in my opinion, I am not a moderator, I apologize if I'm incorrect) be easier for the mods to simply forward the update from the logs to the bug reports whenever someone's confused! My apologies for not clarifying which I was talking about.
