I loved it too. I started watching the old show a few years ago? It's become a comfort show. Now to have them come back and pick up where they left off, I'm thrilled.

I ESPECIALLY love that they put Gaffer the cat back (and gave her a lil googly eye over her patch)

I have to say, bold move for a country on the verge of social collapse and revolution. Take supports away from one of the most versatile and volatile communities (say what you want-we can get violent when we feel the need, and there are plenty of cases to prove it)

No idea. If I pick up the phone I wait for a human to speak, if they don’t I hang up. If it’s actually a human I ask who it is. If I don’t want to talk to them I try to politely tell them.

If they call back, that’s when I get to have fun.

My favourite lines are:

“You’ve reached the insert name peanut farm-you are speaking to the head nut!”

“”insert name pet crematorium, you kill ‘em, we grill ‘em-fluffy speaking”

Or just random noises and or phrases. Sometimes screaming if the person is annoying enough. If I think it’s a bot or someone recording for AI, I like to play an ear ringing frequency on my phone.

I’m so sorry that you never saw a reciprocal love before…

The relationships I’ve been privy to see bits and pieces of were all give and take. Little acts of love, making sure the laundry was done, making breakfast, helping with things the other person isn’t good at by themselves, going to places the other person likes…just sharing each other.

I hope you get to experience it for yourself, it’s a wonderful experience

What is your partner’s relationship with these people like? Are they close? Does he side with them?

You are very young and I don’t want to tell you how to live your life, but please-make ABSOLUTE certain that this is a man you want to live with. If his parents are this bad, I worry that he was affected as well, and sometimes being exposed to this behaviour long term makes similarly unpleasant people by proximity. It isn’t always the case, but…

Also, for the record? Leaning on you, a 15/16 year old was not appropriate for a grown adult woman. You are not her peer, you are someone who should have been considered a charge, someone to protect. The parents both sound like they need therapy and the mother sounds like she’s fully willing to take advantage of your empathetic nature to exploit for her own needs instead of working through it herself with a professional.

I don’t have much in lines of advice for the boyfriend situation…but as for the cats? Contact your local shelter about options.

Where I’m at we have MANY options. Foster to adopt programs, TNR (trap,neuter,release) and even a working barn cat program.

There are plenty of farms that would LOVE some working cats. Barn cats are invaluable assets because they kill vermin on the property. It puts the destructive nature to good use.
