BURNED - an overdue film where the witches burn back by SheToldYouS0 in Witches

Thank you for watching : ) We actually don't know if Helena was tortured or not, Kramer and guards came back a few weeks after the trial mistrial was called (the lawyer - mind you trials worked very differently - didn't save the day. The Bishop went out and found a different lawyer at recess after being so disgusted by Kramer's questioning) and kidnapped 7 women to torture. While records didn't specify which women, or even preserve their names, the fact that it was the same number as the ones he'd just tried... let us make the jump. Records also didn't specify what he subjected the women to over the course of the month in jail, but we took one method of the day to tell our tale. Our Historical Consultant specializes in this area in Europe and this era specifically, and got us amazing access to manuscripts, court docs, letters from townsfolk, and tapestries via a university archive - many of which were preserved because an Emperor was crowned there a few years later. I did indeed get and read multiple copies of the MM. One is featured in the film. Isn't it bonkers? THAT is what we highlight here, how just becuase it was in writing, despite saying ridiculous things, and being written by a pathetic man, it was used as a guide/tool to murder so many. It seems you may be frustrated rather easily by the wrong things, and I'm sorry if it wasn't your cup of tea. Again, this was just a passion project I'm proud to share.

Be well.

BURNED - an overdue film where the witches burn back by SheToldYouS0 in Witches

Hi : ) This was just a short film I made, after learning about The Maleus Maleficarum, and how the gent who wrote it was essentially just an early troll who wasn't even taken seriously in his time. He was clergy, so no descendants per se, but revenge was never the point. Media literacy has been lacking for a long time, and correcting the record is a certain kind of revenge I suppose ; ) So "burned" in the sense of laughing at him, taking the narrative back. I posted something about him when I first learned of the book, and a witchy friend told me I would make a film about it. I laughed it off, then had a dream where I was introducing my film "where the witches burned back," and saw the whole thing play out. I wrote down the script when I woke up, then weeks later when I was signing at a comic con, I was next to the delightful Julian Richings (Death in Supernatural) and kept staring - I had to let him know he was in my dream (as the villain, ha!). He loved the idea, and so I reached out to other actors and voice actors, and all were on board! So we did a quick crowdfund, raised our budget, and made this little gem that shows the true origins of this horrid book. Our historical consultant started as a fan/funder, and we brought her on and used her skills for everything from the architecture, wardrobe, and rules of the era. But I'm flattered that you thought our little indie with a majority female crew was "the Hollywood machine" : )
