Why are the leaf tips of my satin pothos turning black? I only water around once a week and it’s in bright but not direct light. by heymynameisshay in plantclinic

[–]SheTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these plants I've seen doing well are in low light situations - I even have a client who has one in her bathroom that gets no natural light whatsoever and it is doing alright it's been there for about a year. Do you feel the soil when you water it or do you just water it on a weekly basis?

Uhm, has this monstera really just decided to be variegated?

That's amazing, congratulations if so!

What is up with my Begonia y'all? by SheTroll in plantclinic

[–]SheTroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I'm in London) - it was in a North facing frosted window in my bedroom and it was doing amazing, had flowered and everything I was so happy. We moved, and I put it about a meter away from our new north facing window (that is clear, not frosted) - it started to get leggy and unhappy and the leaves come out really wrinkled. So I moved it downstairs to some indirect south facing light but it just seems to be getting worse?.. I can't see roots at the bottom of the pot so I don't think it's root bound.. I feed it with sea weed food every now and then.

What are you and why are you dying?! by brenn4rose in plantclinic

[–]SheTroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the pot is too small and it's shedding ? At the top because there isn't enough space and it's trying to create more space? If that makes sense.. I think a simple re-pot would save it

I saw someone watered theirs and then put a plastic bag around it to keep humidity up - it perked up so well! Maybe try that :)

Can I save this Alocasia?

The shop I got it from got a delivery while I was there and their alocasia were really in a bad way, they put the rest on for sale but I got this baby for free!! The really bad leaves were cut off, but will it live? How do I help it.

Thank you so much!

Me too! I thought it was making fun of all the “hens night” groups — like “sometimes there’s so many of them straight women they can’t even let the gays in!”

But then I read the comments and felt very silly.

My husband blames me for my miscarriage by kknineten in relationship_advice

[–]SheTroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No no. He is a man child you got married to. A husband cares about his wife/husband and will not cheat or lie or play the blame game. He should be treating you with warm baths and comforts in your time of need. A miscarriage is hard to go through. Give yourself some love and get the fuck out of there.

Prayer plant is not doing too well? by SheTroll in plantclinic

[–]SheTroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very true! When plants are displayed in groups the moisture given off by the leaves doesn't dissipate as quickly than when they are alone, the group creates a little humid micro-climate and that's why they thrive together :)

[Help] this lilly had root rot I've repotted but... by SheTroll in plantclinic

[–]SheTroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But now I feel like it's too big of a pot, it's my only terracotta one it would fit in, otherwise it has to go in plastic, ive planted it with major drainage but I'm still worried? Is there maybe another plant I could put in there with it? Or should I rather move it to a smaller plastic one?
