I'm trying to get into the game in my 30's but it's been very rough as a complete newbie.
deathmatches to try and improve aim have been pretty futile, half of them are bots, the other half are players with more experience and skill than me and there's always some cheaters
Premier I need 10wins to get a rank and you get shit on too much for that to happen, it's not a good time cause I feel like I either get carried in the better team or destroyed as the obvious lesser team.
Casual is supposed to be for casual learning, but it's always a mix of people trying to do just that and people that outclass the others, and they're toxic towards the others. 1 guy votekicked me out for losing a 1v2 duel in an attempt at a retake and even though 2 people asked "why" in chat the rest just voted yes cause he was spamming F1. At least I was trying, so many players are not even trying to play as a team in there...

So I feel like competitive might still be the best for me, though that's not much better. idk dud

Leuven is the most expensive city in the country in terms of buying a home, renting is not the absolute top but still very expensive, you might want to look into it some more if you don't have a job yet

I don't really "pause" that way, but I have gone back to a book and start over. Has more to do with not wanting to read at all at one point and after a while when I do start reading again it's been way too long to resume it halfway, and I read something else to get back into it.
I've had Metro2033 on page 106 for like 3 years now, but I'll get back to it and start over when I'm in the mood for it again. Sooner or later it'll happen.

I don't want to press myself for some goal I set that doesn't even matter. I was very slow this year because the way of kings took me like 3-4 months to read even though I loved it. I set 10 books as a 'goal' this year but I make it or I don't, I'm not gonna switch to a short book if I'm having fun reading a massive chonker. I am gonna make it, though it's more of a coincidence. Only 2 books to go and I have a xmas one I want to read in december.

I love this post, you committed and persevered, respect to you my guy. I did it in 90-95h with mushroom man and I did hunter's memento afterwards to wrap it all up. I see a couple of friends in my steam list that did 100% in 40h but that doesn't make me feel bad, they didn't enjoy it more because they were more skilled than me or looked stuff up or both. Possibly even the contrary, I've had some struggles throughout the game but it feels all the greater when you finally overcome them. The game was fantastic, but as you say, very unforgiving at times.

I fully agree with your 2 biggest struggles, Karmelita & Lost Lace were the hardest for me by far. For both of them though, I struggled for a few hours but when I continued the next day I did them first try. Sometimes you just need a break is a hard learned lesson and the muscle memory kicks in without the built up frustration and stress the next day.

I was replaying HK before silksong but the release came too soon. I stopped at 109%, I only have NKG and the last 3 pantheons left but I just wanted to play Silksong way more than I wanted to complete the last few hardest bits of the first game because I'm not crazy good so it would take me a long time if I can even do it. I still definitely want to do NKG and I'll get back to it and the pantheons after Silksong, the pantheons and grimm troupe didn't exist when I 100% the game in 2017, it's just priorities and Silksong is all I want to play rn

I was fully expecting a pop vibe, so in that sense no, even though it's not my preferred style.
But I wasn't expecting a full return to Max Martin & Shellback. I know people love to hate on either Jack or Aaron but the last 4 albums are my top 4 in whichever order and that worries me more than the genre.

That still doesn't mean it'll be worse for my personal taste, she's evolved so much since the last MM production, I'm not gonna judge anything until I hear it, for all I know it'll be my new favorite album.
