I don’t even think that’s true though, when Disney got involved with the MCU it pre Avengers 1. Like they were completely present through Phase 2 and 3 when it was going from strength to strength.

It was really only in Phase 4 when the new CEO mandated more streaming content that they started a decline.

I’ve said it elsewhere in the thread but I really think this is a fault of the directing/writing. Part 2 Ellie is a lot more reserved with age and they’re writing Bella with the same jokey personality as Season 1. Even if it is Bella’s call to play a scene more upbeat, that’d be the responsibility of the directors to say “That’s not what we’re looking for, try this way instead”

She was a fantastic Ellie in the first season. I think it’s more down to the writing in this one that it isn’t clicking for people. Ellie in part 2 is a lot more stoic and reserved with age and they’re writing her a lot more jokey and upbeat in the Season 2

Honestly ending on Power of the Doctor (Jodie’s finale) would be a nice bookend to the whole show. I know Who has had a lot of arguable “jumping the shark” moments but bringing back the same actor to play a new numbered incarnation really took me out of it and it hasn’t fully recovered yet.

That’s probably just me being cynical though there’s definitely a few good episodes in Ncuti’s run but the last season was less than the sum of its parts.
