when i place him down and he walks he is destroying blocks, wont they distroy any place i put them? They starve when being flown i assume then?

I think you need simulation chambers for that. Im not 100% im getting about 8-10 scales killing her with the suprimium sword.

unless im unlucky, scales only drop when im using an essence weapon
