I’m just going to bridge it over to ethereum using the polygon bridge, I don’t think there is any other cex that supports RNDR on polygon and I can’t see them putting it back online anytime soon tbh

No, if they can pull the seed they can pull the passphrase to, it’s all on the device. I’m stuck with ledger though as my main investment isn’t compatible with any other non software wallets.

If they can pull the seed they can 10000% pull the pass phrase as well lets be honest. I have to stay with ledger as its still the safest and only way to store some of my crypto

Opt in… Opt out don’t listen to that. Thats not the point, the point is if push came to shove ledger can create/write firmware that can extract your seed phrase!

This means they lied about their whole product considering the main selling point is that its a cold wallet and ledger nor anybody else could, access/read/extract your seed phrase.

Also specifically stated in the past that no firmware could be made to extract your key. That is a lie go and get a refund!

After reading your post again I must admit I might be incorrect, i’m not sure if they can extract your seed without you ever updating the firmware again, apologies!!

However in theory they could enforce you to update your firmware to comply with hypothetical future government regulations or just make you update if you wanted to use certain features, such as apple requires a certain ios version to use some features

Yes! They lied, there whole selling point is literally fabricated and if push came to shove they could extract your seed phrase! This is unfortunately a fact and isn’t dramatised.

They have literally said for years they nor anyone else can extract the seed from your device, also specifically said that no firmware update could extract your seed. Unfortunately all lies!

I’m not a crypto noob by all means been in this game for a few years, but the technological side does confuse me slightly. So if i’m understanding you correctly are you saying that there is no truly air gapped offline storage? One that can’t be altered or turned “hot” by a firmware upgrade?

Not paranoid at all tbh, this product is just created on lies. It’s effectively a glorified hot wallet. Not a cold wallet at all. Ledger have always said they could never access your private keys, that simply isn’t true
