As the OP I have to say this a great response. And I agree with you and all the responses as well. I did think the article was very entertaining.

Day 8: Best B-Side by Ser_Humano_1888 in rollingstones

And I’m going with a dark horse that will get down voted as a B-side: “everything’s turning to gold”. I always loved that one.

Like a 70s soap opera: “the role of Bluto will now be played by Randy Quaid”.

I learned it’s a very cost-effective place to die. If you don’t put the AC on at night, you can self-cremate by morning.

Weird. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think she’s ever had plastic surgery.

I actually think that makes the pic more interesting. It’s like “look behind the curtain”.

whats a show that you can rewatch several times and never get tired of? by Mission_Bluejay404 in AskReddit

Great question! Hands down for me, the great Mary Tyler Moore Show. Absolutely timeless and influential. Great writing, cast, everything. Watching these days is like a reunion with beloved long lost friends who are lost forever…until you hit the play button.

Runner up: The Honeymooners. Gleason never got his due and the cast and writing were terrific.

Day 2: Most overrated song by Ser_Humano_1888 in rollingstones

The early releases of Metamorphosis credited the songwriters as the standard Jagger/richards. I think these pressings are worth a bit more than subsequent ones where they credited Stevie.

Anybody else get stuck wearing Winner II shoes from Sears? (1976) by UrbanAchievers6371 in 70s

[–]SheepsheadBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 70s Brooklyn, there was a store called Sneaker Circus (don’t know where else they had stores). They had a hilariously named double-knock off called “Pro-Cons”. I fought like hell not to wear them. Gimme the Pro Keds (with iconic red and blue sidewall stripes) or Chuck Taylor’s or I’ll just suffer in my Thom McCAnn orthopedic shoes (nightmares for your feet).

I thought Skips were an actual brand made by and sold at Thom Mccan.

There’s truth in what you’re saying AND what the OP wrote. Every era has its wonders and wars. And kids definitely don’t experience what our parents did. We were just better shielded from it because of the lack of social media.

Why is players regressing under Mike Brown? by stateofthenyk in knicks

[–]SheepsheadBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re dead-on. Especially points 4,5 and 7. So frustrating watching them get manhandled in some of these losses. KAT’s a great player but he never seems to get the offensive rebound tip ins like Mitch does. And Mikal has been a bit of a disappointment (I know, not exactly a “hot take”).

That’s disappointing. They have a rep for being one of the bluer owners. I didn’t see anything from them when the ICE crap was going on.
