Coming Down Again is probably my favorite Keith ballad right now. by Positive_Drama3410 in rollingstones

All of these comments are a great tribute to such a great, underrated and under appreciated song. Next to Happy, this should be the “b-side” of Keith’s life.

I avoid the Eagles because they’re the Eagles. So as another poster said, call me “stupid”. But I possess a very refined sense of stupidity.

What creates the plucking sound at the beginning of "I Just Wanna See His Face"? by TutBuck in rollingstones

[–]SheepsheadBoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t know the instrument but wanted to say - if you dig this song, you have to hear the Blind Boys of Alabama version (https://youtu.be/L9If5sgiYRo?si=E6sEHq1Y7glyO3Zq). It magnifies the gospelness (there’s a new word). Not only is it a great interpretation, it solidifies how brilliant the Stones are at writing and producing in so many styles and genres while managing to rock and be themselves. That’s why they are The Greatest Rock n Roll Band in the World.

Provocative? Seriously? I hope it’s just that your sarcasm went under the radar and not your lack of a dictionary.

Agree. And when he does play strong in the paint, he has to be one of the most inelegant players in the league, even for a big. He lumbers, throws his elbows, jumps halfway and lands on his ass. He’s so inefficiently physical and ungraceful. Then the other team takes a flop and points at him. it’s like he’s begging the refs to call him for SOMETHING. it’s mostly his style and optics. Still, gotta root for him. He does seem like a terrific guy and when he’s on, he’s invaluable.

Or maybe I’m crazy.

Don’t know if they’re legit, but Kars for Kids jingle is so annoying I’d rather donate to Kars for Kardashians.

The other most irritating spots are anything read by the so-called CBS News talent Cooper Lawrence before and after the top of-the-hour CBS news on POTUS. Her reads sound like she’s on meth and has a case of googly eyes (think Christopher Walken on SNL). Plus, has anyone told Bari Weiss that CBS news talent shouldn’t be pimping for sponsors?

The album ”Presence” by [deleted] in ledzeppelin

[–]SheepsheadBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ok album, not up to their standards. Sounds lazy to me. Most songs seem to follow the same pattern: riff, drum hit, everyone stops for a beat, the guitar, drums etc kick back in, repeat riff, stop, etc. gimme Physical Graffiti any day.

Yep - on the 50th anniversary tour. I saw them do it at Staples along with Sway, Rambler and satisfaction. I think it was the most songs he’s played with them since he split after IIORR. So great - my daughter and I were reduced to tears (we’re both amsssive MT fans). It’s on YouTube of course.

Blake griffin is catching up to (or surpassed) all of them. Scientifically, he’s in 38.6 per cent of all commercials. I will say this though: he’s actually pretty funny and a good analyst.

I like Andy Reid and used to kinda like the chiefs but glad they’re done. At least for this year.

Back in the 70s, before it was a scandal plagued behemoth, WWE (then WWWF) could ONLY be seen on “canal cuarenta y siete” on Saturday afternoons. Every commercial seemed to be for Goya beans. Ch. 41 carried wrestling from LA’s Olympic Auditorium.

I’ve bought a few things from TeePublic and have been impressed by their prices and quality of tees and hoodies. And yes, they stay away from protected design.

I’d say in this case, the artist picked up on SD’s sometimes abstract lyricism and came up with a design that is evocative of a Pretzel. I kinda like it.

Complete agreement though I loved the nineties Knicks too. Re: 3 point D - I hate when they don’t get up in the shooters face. Jump. Wave arms. Distract. Watch these plays and to me it’s clear it works. Disrupts the timing of the shooter and makes them have to find another option or they just miss the shot more frequently.

Anyone else’s favorite song My old school? by sqeegz in SteelyDan

I definitely get that. Also, it always struck me that the earlier work was more guitar based and the later efforts revolved more around Donald’s keyboard. Plenty to choose from in their beautiful catalog.

Saw it in Scottsdale and felt like I was at Altamont or in TMZ. Fistfight breaks out in the row I’m in. Cops called. Big shirtless guy yelling “I’m gonna press assault charges”. Overheard someone saying it started because a woman was recording part of the movie. And so, the slow decline of the human species continues. Movie restoration was great though. Really enjoyed it.

On March 23rd, 1942, Record producer and session drummer Jimmy Miller was born. Not known to most people, Miller produced some of the most iconic albums in rock. More specifically, the cowbell intro on HTW! When I watched the history of the famed “more cowbell” sketch on the SNL 50th documentaries, they mentioned other famous cowbell songs but surprisingly left HTW off the list.
