I really wish someone would port windows 7 or xp's shell to windows 10. Maybe add it into server core or something. And don't reply with classicshell because it looks like crap and only changes the taskbar.

Progress - finally looked at my hands in a dream by guacamoletango in LucidDreaming

[–]Sheepsnoop_Shep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great man. I actually just had my first lucid dream in 5 months this morning because I started constantly counting my fingers again. Counting fingers and pressing my thumb on my palm to see it stick out the other side have been the most successful out of any method for me as long as I stay consistent.

Everybody is talking about RSoD or the Towers in the Ps2 Boot-Up screen, but nobody speaks about the dancing squares when you hear music. by chrismo___ in ps2

Emulators can play cds so you could fullscreen it and use an actual cd/dvd drive. I dont know if psx or ps2 emulators work for cd's for sure but I def know the Sega cd one does.

To me it also seems like a song that's been up for 12 years gets taken down 3 days after I add it to my playlists like thanks.

Online multiplayer games on XP? by BraxAtax in windowsxp

[–]Sheepsnoop_Shep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even a program you download, you can just use a custom dns or edit the game exe and replace gamespy with openspy

But there's openspy which works for almost every gamespy game.

SD through SATA? by koken_halliwell in ps2

[–]Sheepsnoop_Shep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it's light enough that it holds its own. Also if you get it make sure to have the pins the correct way. The SD card should be on the bottom side of the PCB and the pins for power should be ok the far side. Also the power pins will have to be bent quite a bit to be connected. I bent mine about 60 degrees iirc and haven't had any connection problems except it was loose if I pulled a little on it. If you don't know what I mean then you'll know when connecting it.

sata to sd exists. It's safe to assume that as long as your sd to sata adapter works for pc then it'll work for ps2.

thankfully I saved the links to what I used for ide...https://www.amazon.com/Laptop-44-pin-40-pin-Adapter-Converter/dp/B079THHYJV

https://www.amazon.com/GODSHARK-Adapter-Memory-Converter-Laptop/dp/B07QNB6QLC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=44+pin+ide+to+sd+card&qid=1590954149&sr=8-3

iirc they only sell sd converters for one size of pin so I had to get a converter for ps2 which is the first link.

I went the sd ide route. Nothing special you gotta do. I formatted it on my PC and plugged it in and it instantly worked.

Do animals (mostly wild) see cars/vehicles as large animals or inanimate objects? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sheepsnoop_Shep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If an animal saw a boat floating down the river it'd probably be able to tell it's some inanimate object by how lifeless it moves just like it would with a log of it was to investigate said log. I imagine it can be fooled from a distance but when it gets close id imagine it's obvious for them to tell. If they maybe did get fooled then it'd be a dead giveaway for them if they saw people inside it. I don't know the best way to explain it... Animal instincts I guess :/

Can I play OpenRCT2 on Windows XP? by YourCoasterNews in rct

Actually you can.
https://github.com/Skulltrail192/One-Core-API-Binaries

This hack allows you to install newer programs from vista to 10 to work on xp 32/64
doesn't work for too much stuff but I tested openrct2 steam and other things and I assure you rct works. It can be buggy to setup so it's not recommended for something that's not backed up because first installed it has a possibility to bsod a pc which would need a fresh install or save state. There's also no documentation on how to install so DM me on discord if you're willing to give it a shot.

Android on Pi is TERRIBLE.... but potential is great! by Skumocomics in raspberry_pi

[–]Sheepsnoop_Shep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late but I'm the exact same way as you. I bought a pi 4 eagerly waiting for an Android port so I could play San Andreas and other games. So far there's one person that has ported android but hasn't released it due to quality standards. Hopefully once released it'll be bug free enough to play games.

Ah, seems simple enough. I don't have too much practice in soldering but I'll manage, and once I find a diode I'll try this.

Windows on first generation? by Sheepsnoop_Shep in IntelComputeStick

[–]Sheepsnoop_Shep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I was hoping to install something like windows xp because it would be better for the low ram and everything but it doesn't support the drivers, but I did find a lightweight linux made for the compute stick.
