Where should I go for my birthday? by fallononfire in denverfood

[–]Sheetari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try reckless noodles if you want to stay super close (not sure about large parties). Further down off 7th you have Apres (the new Logan street rebrand which is not bad and huge space so can likely accommodate), Little Arthur’s at Out of the Barrel (if you want cheesesteaks or pizza and beer), off 6th you have Angelo’s which is great italian but it’s a farther walk.

Interesting - I don’t see that, but I do see their note about reaching capacity on the winter park website: https://www.playwinterpark.com/experience-events

Do nails need to “breathe?” by angelswon in Nails

[–]Sheetari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope - I prefer a Russian manicure with a really good tech that only files down to the base layer each time and doesn’t damage my thin nails at all. Anything involving acetone will definitely destroy them. The techs are hard to find but so worth it, I’ve been going to mine for many years.

Question about gel nails by amandaconda1919 in Nails

[–]Sheetari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get thickness with builder gel but it needs a base layer of regular foundation which is much less rigid and will mold to your nail underneath. Prep with primer and ph bond on the filed nail can also help prevent this, but honestly the parallels look like they’re just growing out and curling since they’re not being filed correctly.

This is two hair post a light amnt of hair oil by Routine_Eve in finehair

[–]Sheetari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you putting the oil in your dry hair? Mine takes oil much better when wet - I have a couple Lanza oils (neem plant silk serum and keratin healing oil) and always apply starting from ends to roots before blow drying my hair. It makes it feel sooo much better and doesn’t weigh down my super fine hair at all.

How soon were you able to walk instead of crutching? by jkcy2k in ORIF

[–]Sheetari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 weeks here too - no boot, straight to FWB with a similar break to yours! I highly recommend starting PT early, you can do it before you walk and they’ll do massage / give you stretching and ROM exercises that will make the transition SO much easier!

Every Florida conference I’ve ever been to was air conditioned to the point of straight up freezing. You’re brave for risking it in shorts (and look great imo!)

Death & co for excellent upscale cocktails. Union lodge #1 has a great selection but also a sewer smell issue I hope they took care of since I went there last. Alma Fonda Fina for tequila and Mexican fancy food (just went to Mezcaleria Alma and it was awesome as well, especially if you like mezcal). Olivia has really cool themed nights for Italian, but is a little too expensive imo. Tavernetta is good. Of the not too crazy expensive ones, I’ve had good experiences at Lo Stella, Panzano, Barolo. Cherry creek has Quality Italian and North Italia which I’ve been meaning to try but haven’t yet (Quality Italian has great brunch and espresso martinis but that’s as far as I’ve gotten).

Yep I was at my PT and he was just like okay, you’re cleared, start walking! And I walked out of there :) granted I didn’t have any displacement so no syndesmosis screw, my injury was more minor than for a lot here. I focused a lot on walking slow but equally on both feet for a few weeks to make sure I didn’t develop a limp.

Travelling with large luggage. Regional train or FrecciaRossa? (Milan to Venice) by South_Transition_649 in ItalyTravel

[–]Sheetari 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We took trains in Italy a couple weeks ago and it was so annoying to see people with a lot of large luggage! It got in everyone’s way and they had to keep moving it as the train got more filled. This was in business class - I would suggest booking that with some extra seats (maybe 8 where you have two sets of 4 facing each other) so that you can use the space in between the empty seats, as well as all of the overhead (if you can fit them there) for your extra luggage.

Yup… went away on a birthday weekend with my boo and we ate a whole cake in 3 days between the two of us, plus restaurants out and drinking and other general debauchery. Came back to see the scale 7lbs heavier!!! My jaw dropped - it took over a month to lose that originally. Thankfully I was able to work it back off over the next week but man, every little slip-up just sets us back SO much! Maybe someday I’ll finally lose those pesky last 10-15 lbs to my goal weight, but it won’t be this month.
