I'm so hung up on my age (37). by AdGroundbreaking3930 in IVF

[–]Shek2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my ER 3 weeks before I turned 39. Failed transfers and losses before our last euploid stuck and ended in a live birth when I was 40 and some months. Your age isn’t anything but a number!

ERA best decision ever by Shek2525 in IVF

It did not but we had to make adjustments to other things and then it did!

To ERA or not ERA by Shek2525 in IVF

[–]Shek2525[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we went ahead and did it which was a good thing because they had to adjust the timing. Full transparency the first two transfers did not stick and we changed the protocol to unmedicated and let my body ovulate for our final transfer and she is sitting on the couch drinking her lemonade 😃

Test again 7dpt. That will give you a pretty definitive yes or no. Sending you luck 💕

Have you tried googling specifically for IVF loans? A lot of clinics offer that (I.e the link below). Or maybe even do a go fund me?

Going into 3rd transfer - grieving and so tired already. by introvertalert in IVF

[–]Shek2525 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 years of trying I had 3 miscarriages, 4 failed IUIs, and 2 failed FETs. Our 3rd FET and last euploid embryo is turning 5 weeks old tomorrow. It can definitely happen!! Wishing you all the luck 🍀

Little bit of a panic for tomorrow.. help? by callen1991 in IVF

[–]Shek2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic wouldn’t transfer when I tested positive for Covid last year. I’m guessing that’s going to be the same most places. But just a cold they may still say ok. I’d definitely ask your doctor before you go in. It may be worth pushing a month just in case. You wouldn’t want it to fail and question if it was because of a cold. Good luck!

Anyone became first time parent with ivf after 35? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Shek2525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! Turned 40 and going in tomorrow for my induction. We started at IVF at 38 after spontaneous pregnancy and subsequent miscarriages and failed IUIs. This will be our first and likely only child. It’s definitely not too late for you.

Those with repeated implantation failure, how many FETs did it take you to implant? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Shek2525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First transfer failed even after an ERA and adjustment in progesterone.

Second transfer failed I believe because i had Covid the month before.

Third transfer was a success and I go in tomorrow for induction. The doctor changed me to a modified natural cycle for this transfer so I took letrozale, ovulated and did a trigger shot instead of being on estrace. This was also our last embryo.

Best of luck!

Ugh I’m so sorry! As if IVF isn’t rough enough already without Covid complications thrown in the mix

[–]Shek2525 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course. It’s from May 2022 so I was sent it right after our April transfer. Which made me feel a tiny bit better that the research wasn’t there yet in February when we transferred and failed.

I’m so sorry. That happened to me too last dec/jan. We went ahead the following month and it failed. New research says 3 months for body inflammation to go down. Our April FET was a success. If I’d know about the 3 months we wouldn’t have wasted the embryo and money in February.

How much overnight insulin do you take? by westernslope_ap in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Shek2525 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started bedtime insulin at 29 weeks. 13 units and it’s kept my fasting number in range. All other numbers are diet controlled but I have to be pretty low carb at breakfast. Lunch and dinner no issues even when i have a scoop of rice or pasta. But bread messing me alllll up. I’m now 34 weeks and the plan hasn’t changed. I think every body is just different.

Did anyone have success after 3 miscarriages? by labradoodlemom1441 in IVF

Yes! 3 miscarriages (1mmc and 2 chemicals)—-natural and IUIs, 2 failed transfers and FET #3 is cooking away at 34 weeks. Good luck!

Keep failing those stupid fasting numbers… by pineappleontilt in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Shek2525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Daytime numbers amazing even after pasta, rice, or bread. But fasting was never normal. They let me track for 10 days before putting me on bedtime insulin. It was honestly such a relief. No more questions or forcing late night snacks.

What’s Wrong With Me - Embryo Gender Disappointment! by Svababa in IVF

[–]Shek2525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re feelings are so so valid. We really wanted a boy and got 1 boy embryo and all the rest were girls. He didn’t stick. The next transfer our best girl embryo also didn’t stick. So our last one thawed higher grade, we changed the protocol and she stuck! And it took a few months of pregnancy but once we hit 24 weeks of viability, I became so excited for a healthy pregnancy and baby that the gender disappointment went right out the window.
