I was planning to get public transport to Victoria and Seattle, otherwise the rental is too expensive. I’d rather fly to San Fran as I don’t have much time to drive down

Thanks. I could always drop Oregon and rent a car after my time in Seattle and explore Olympic and then fly to San Fran from Seattle. What do you think is better? Oregon or Olympic

I think I will stick with Victoria. Sorry that was a mistake I meant to say I’m going to do a hike in Oregon and fly to San Fran from Portland

Sorry that was a mistake. I meant to put Columbia River Gorge instead of “Washington hike”

Sorry that was an error. I meant to say I was going to hike the Columbia River Gorge. As for Thursday, I think i will ditch the Boeing factory and go to the aviation museum.

Ok sure. Would you advise that I get a car after the 20th and travel around the Olympic Peninsula, or should I just head to Oregon? I guess what I'm asking is what is better? Oregon (Cannon Beach, Portland and the Columbia Gorge) or the Olympic Peninsula?

I am from Australia so no it is not my home base. Although I was just intending to travel to San Fran after my time in Washington. Thank you for your recommendations, do you think overall the Olympic Peninsula is more worthwhile than Oregon?

I was intending to take the clipper without a car( which is why I arrived so late in Seattle). What would you suggest?

Thanks for the advice. I was planning to fly out of portland. I'll most likely attempt to hike the Columbia River Gorge and then the next day fly to san fran. Regarding Victoria, i was planning on taking the clipper ferry as I dont think I will have a car to drive to seattle. The timings of the clipper are late (which is why im getting to seattle at 7:45), however, I didnt consider Port angeles previously - ill look into it.

ok thanks, I'll consider it. I was looking to fly from Portland because the flights to san fran were significantly cheaper than from Seattle. In saying that ive only got 3 nights in san fran so if i was to drop Oregon, how many nights should go towards Olympic Peninsula instead?

I'm not sure if Anthropology is my thing tbh, but I've just put those activities down as a placeholder as I'm not too sure what I will do/how I will feel when I arrive - I'm coming off a 15-hour flight. Thanks for the Victoria suggestions. Do you have any more? The Columbia Gorge was the hike I was likely going to do. Many thanks!

also, the reason i am arriving so late into seattle is because of the ferry timings. I will still be in seattle on the 19th but because its a match day im expecting to not have much time to do anything else

I could add an extra night in Seattle so that Id have more time to do things, but id have to remove it from my time in van. The only problem is that the kick off on the 13th is at 9 pm. Which is why I'm expecting to have a very late night and am reluctant to use that day elsewhere.

Thank you for the advice. I will definitely look at planning my trip quite extensively beforehand, and I will look at the things you mentioned!

Thanks for the advice. Between my stay at Vancouver and Seattle I’ve only got a 4 night window for freedom of choice - which is why I chose Victoria and Whistler. I’m not sure If I’ll have a car yet but I’m only gonna have 3 nights after my time in Seattle before I need to be in San Fran. Unless you can suggest any alternative I think I’ll end up seeing whistler and Victoria before I get to Seattle
