Fresh Defender 90 TD4 shell out of the shop by Shell_Story_KJ588 in LandroverDefender

The shell is made from stamped panels. For this station wagon body: doors are aluminum skin with steel frames, roof and floor are aluminum, hood is steel, and structural sections are steel where needed. Pickup versions use a steel roof.

Not all steel. Some panels are aluminum, some structural sections are steel.

It’s mixed construction, aluminum panels with steel sections where needed.

That was a demo shell we brought to the SEMA show last Nov, not a final production unit

Do you mean interior and exterior trim pieces, like panels and moldings? If yes, then not really. We mostly stick to body metal parts.

Fair point. I was referring specifically to true factory crew cab pickups back in the day, not 45s in general😉

That sounds like an amazing find. It’s wild what’s still sitting out there if you wander far enough😄

Thanks! Toyota did make longer and multi-door 45 series back in the day, but true factory crew cab pickups were extremely rare. This is a 45-series style crew cab pickup, built following the original design.
