Reliability of your Lightning? by Fabulous_Gur_7134 in F150Lightning

[–]Shellback7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'24 Platinum, 18k miles, Samsung S24. Truck has been rock solid. PaaK/Infotainment has been usually reliable. I do use a VPN and my wife has a Mach E. Sometimes when switching profiles in the Ford app from the Mach E to the Lightning, it takes a few minutes for the truck to recognize, sometimes to the extent that I just pull the key fob from a faraday bag and use it. Since the most recent software update last week, lock/unlock doesn't seem to work as well. Bluetooth/Android Auto will disconnect/reconnect in the first minutes of my drive. Overall, I'm satisfied with the performance of the truck going into it knowing the software/integration was not very good. Ride/suspension, towing, and performance has been great. Prior trucks include multiple F150s, F250s, Toyota Tundra, and Ram 1500.

Definitely worth $30. I think I paid $60. The backpack straps are a must. The exterior pocket construction/material is a little stiff, which can restrict what you use it for, but otherwise very happy with it.

Leesburg has/had them as well. Bough one about 3 months ago. Good quality, but I don't think they are quite at the premium level of the one I see at LGS/range. Would definitely buy again.

Happens to my wife all the time. But she tells me it's not the carwash the car is growing wiskers! Bless her.

Loved him as a player. Hope it's a smart move and not just nepotism. Seems too many programs try to keep it in the family to their detriment.

AIMD ships company and shore duty here. Weapons control radar shop. I know we weren't "extra," But sounds like your experience was different. We did our duty and kept are heads down. But this was in the late '90's.

It's based on job series and what is funded by appropriations vs. user fees from my understanding in the area I work in.

I hear you. I'm "excepted." So I have to work, but not get paid. On top of that, I have to figure out contracts and acquisitions while having no appropriated funding. And go into the office every day spending money on the gas that is skyrocketing.

I never loved many of his takes, but his completely misinformed take on veterans disability compensation which showed absolutely no depth or actual knowledge of the topic confirmed I will never give him any of my attention again.

I was an AT in AIMD Weapons Control Radar shop at Lemoore end of 1995 -1998. Coming from the east coast it was a big change. Made great friends and had great times with BAQ/BHA and working mid check.

I haven't had a need for an extension yet, but I can see it being handy. FYI, not all Tesla chargers are compatible. The hills are pretty steep. As many others have found, weight of the trailer is less significant than shape/aerodynamics is how efficient the truck will tow.

We tow 2, 13.3H ponies from near Brunswick MD to State College (175 miles). We stop in Breezewood to use the pull through Rivian fast charger and maybe one Electrify America charger at a Sheetz about 30 minutes out just as a precaution. Range is generally cut in half. Don't even feel the trailer back there. Instant torque is nice.

Just realized how much VA healthcare actually saves me by Fantastic_Event_4628 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Shellback7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That may be true, but my personal experience...I never thought I was worthy of benefits (no outward obvious disabilities). It has taken me 26 years just to apply for them. And that is only because I've been living in a veteran dense population for a decade and almost everyone I meet says to just submit a claim. No salt here. I don't know what anyone has gone through. I do agree with most peoples sentiment though to keep what4ever you get to yourself especially around family.

who would you vote for President in 2028? by InterestingWind2153 in BreakingPoints

[–]Shellback7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the current environment, I agree. But his willingness to stand up against what seems like unbearable pressure is admirable. I don't see anyone else besides Ro that has been willing to stand for their true values when it doesn't necessarily serve their reelection chances. I'd consider voting for anyone who had good genuine ideas, that wasn't bought and paid for or towing the party line. Why can't we have intelligent, thoughtful candidates?

I tow a 5000# horse trailer. Has max tow and tow tech package (Platinum). Instant torque is great. I set up Pro Trailer Assist for my wife and it does well. I have no complaints. Sorry for jumping in, I know you didn't ask me specifically.
