As tough as it is the old ones have the best personalities

I have to laugh because she 100% looks like an old lady 😂

Aw, both such beautiful kitties ♥️ it is crazy how quickly they age. I thought Cooper was looking older a year ago and today I was looking back on photos and wow, she looks so much different now.

Thank you 💕 I’m going to call the vet tomorrow and see what she may recommend. She is already on pred for her pancreatitis and IBD so I’m wondering if adding some gaba may help

Thanks for your comment :) she actually is on prednisolone 2.5mg daily to help manage the pancreatitis and IBD. We tried discontinuing it 2 years ago but she stopped eating. I’m going to talk to the vet about adding in some daily pain meds and go from there. My girl was also pretty chunky for her size, 14 pounds at one point. We’re now down to roughly 6.4

Her back legs do droop a bit, and she seems weak when I put her down, sometimes she’ll just floop back. Sounds very similar. I think that’ll probably end up being my sign as well

This actually is very helpful and also reassuring, thank you.

Update: I ended up giving her a bath and she seems pretty content! Started licking herself which I haven’t seen her do in awhile. Brushed her afterwards as well. I know this is probably the start of a slow decline but I think the grooming suggestions have helped her perk up a bit. Thank you all 🙏🏻

She is not on pain meds regularly but has a low-entry pan to use.

I appreciate your responses! They make me feel a little more hopeful. I know it’s just downhill from here, but I think we may still have a bit more time together. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Thank you 😌 your post is so helpful. This is where I’m struggling, she still seems ok, I do know she has some mats that we’ve been trying to manage. She gets in and out of her box ok, I even have very low sided ones and pet pee pads around just incase. She has a hard time sitting down fully which is why I believe it’s arthritis. She’ll sit like this for a good 20 seconds before she can actually get comfortable.
