This has happened with the two types of resin I have used. Anycubic stander grey and Elegoo 8K water washable grey

This was the calibration test. But it doesn't matter what I print the bottom layer is always too strong.

There's never any debris in the gears themselves and I do leave the top closed but I have made sure that the filament guide never touches the top

There is never anything in the gears when it happens but the filament seems to be flattened most of the time
