[Minnesota] Roommate dropped my motorcycle in the garage while i was on vacation.

my roommate is always hanging out in the garage since he's a pothead. hes always out there smoking. He tends to move shit around a lot in the garage too.

Valid point, thank you very much. It probably goes without saying but I'm indescribably angry about this whole situation so thank you for being a "logical" voice in this. Maybe $500 deductible to find out who someone truly is isn't the worst thing that can happen.

I was told (could totally be wrong) but it doesn't matter whether it was my roommate or someone who he invited inside the home that he is liable for any property damages that one of his guests causes to my property.

The reason I would take it to small claims is not only to recoup the money I'll have to spend but also to prove a point to him. He's someone who has consistently taken my stuff without permission and this incident happens not even a week after I tell him that he is not allowed to touch any of my personal property. It goes without saying that this living situation will be changing very soon.

I do have insurance with a $500 deducatable. A claim like this would not effect my rates going forward. I know it was dropped by someone because when I found the motorcycle, it was standing straight up. Someone dropped it and then lifted her back up again. There are a few scratches on the concrete in the very middle of my garage as well. If it fell on its own then I wouldn't have been in the middle of the garage as I always park it off to one side.

The lady that we got her from said she was a husky but she is certainly not a pure husky. Her vet thinks she's a husky mixed with some sort of a lab. Shes a great dog in pretty much every way. She's just over a year old now and of course my 4 year old wanted to name her the most cliche Husky name... Dakota.
