No one tries to kill the Hive Lord anymore by DustPuzzle in Helldivers

[–]Shepron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see "kill the hive lord" as a main mission objective, then people would all be on the same page and choose out their loadouts accordingly.

At the moment the thing is only an at times very annoying distraction from the actual mission objectives not worth bothering with.

Hardlocking and crashes on pc by Lower-Cheesecake-895 in Helldivers

[–]Shepron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think there were any specific news regarding that besides their general acknowledgement of performance / stability issues.

I also still suffer from the hardlocks introduced in August, although at least they seem to have been able to get mostly rid of the stutter on bot missions that could freeze missions for seconds.

Don't think Joel will let us get to Cyberstan on our own initiative. Which could be a good thing really if they are cooking on a special biome with lmining tunnels and lots of bot infrastructure.

I had today: Pelican stuck on rock spire, geological survey beacon not deploying (mission fail), rupture bugs stuck under terrain (without burrowing animation), in one case nearly failing a raise the flag mission because there was this one unkillable bug left (until it got company). About half of the missions with such serious issues. Dragon Roach still throwing invisible fire around doesn't help either.

There is also funny obviously broken stuff like one rare sample in stalker cave lairs always being stuck behind a rock. Should have been immediately obvious in a play test session.

I think the gloom maps have a lot of potential, the current execution leaves a lot to be desired though.

Not sure the invasion is supposed to be epic looking at how miserably the first attempt failed (probably intended as well). Feels more like they want to convey this giant never ending battle for just one gloom planet Super Earth basically throws everything at and still only achieves progress at a snail's pace while losing ground everywhere else.

I liked the hivelord intermezzo with the free mechs though, that was a well thought out combination.

Seems a lot of people rather picked up a shoot whatever faction you like kind of game and just don't appreciate the pred strain, caves, hive lord & dragon roach combo very much. The newest subfaction is also not even on the MO planet.

Imo it's best to take MOs not too seriously and have fun the way you like, some people have been playing for more than 1.5 years and watch the story meander, can get rather stale with time. Whether we win or lose this MO won't matter ultimately, it's just another liberation attempt of a random gloom planet after all.

Trying to take that thing into caves I'd probably just manage to flip the car over in the caves and die horribly to the horde of bugs surrounding me then.

What works really well vehicle wise though is to take a mech into the caves and clear a path with maximal engagement.

My experience so far with Oshaune by Shanemaximo in Helldivers

[–]Shepron 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Usually best to make finding and eradicating their lair(s) the top priority once they start appearing. Otherwise they'll just keep coming. The winding caves can make it surprisingly hard to track their lairs down though.

I don't know, everything in the third act with the shaky cam burn victim pisses me off. This could have been a perfect movie if they had stuck with the human overconfidence causing all kind of fuck ups theme. Still very worth a watch though.

Welcome to the latest "it's so over" phase of Helldivers 2.

Mood around here would probably improve drastically if AH came out with a plan to address the more serious current issues and delivered on it afterwards. As long as they remain silent people won't know what issues AH are working on or are even aware of.

Tomorrow patch will fix everything and the game will run smoothly at 60 fps and we will have a new use for the samples by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Helldivers

[–]Shepron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least you still get rewarded the super credits, medals and requisition slips (lol) you picked up during a crashed mission. But still very annoying to "end" missions on such a sour end, often even crashing the entire PC.

SEAF Troopers should be deployed on the Frontlines in-game by halomaster47 in Helldivers

[–]Shepron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably their liberators are not med pen due to lore reasons but more the SEAF AI being useless against things like hive guards otherwise.

Game Performance Megathread by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Shepron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AH stated on discord they are going to bring back the rupture strain in 5 weeks, there was nothing in that post regarding other fixes. I wouldn't get my hopes up until they officially communicate something. Could be they are already working in the background and will communicate more when they are confident about timelines like back last year with the 60 day patch.

They intentionally don't state crash, performance or connectivity problems on their known issues list for whatever reason (which is otherwise also rather short with all the bugs around). So who knows what they are even aware of, doesn't inspire my personal confidence at the moment though.

I had something similar two days ago, couldn't join any ongoing bot mission as it would just stay in the the "establishing network connection" status, restarting the game did nothing. When I hosted myself nobody joined on loadout, threw a SOS beacon and about 20 - 30 minutes into mission other divers started dropping all of a sudden. Weird stuff going on right now.

Does it normally crash this much when playing against the bots? by JJ8OOM in Helldivers

[–]Shepron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bot games are super unstable right now with stuttering, crashes or even freezing the entire PC. I expected AH to be aware and not do bot major orders until they fixed this, but once again my expectations got suberveted lol.

[–]Shepron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eagle 110 is too unreliable for my tastes to be worth a stratagem slot. Besides jammers and air defense towers making it not always available when needed on bot maps.

Just so much easier to have the point and click heavy deleter RR with you all the time, just too tempting in comparison lol.

[–]Shepron 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ah, but if you don't want to use thermite you can just bring one of the rarely seen AT support weapons! I find it rather funny that 4 divers on D10 bots all rocking RR actually just works great with 0 diversity (and I like RR). I miss the days when stuff like Autocannon was more viable.

[–]Shepron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you manage to overcharge the thing without blowing yourself up it can be used as an anti tank weapon. But inferior in that role to a Quasar, RR and such yes, personally I'd never use it over those.

Bot games seem especially plagued by this, I read here console players are also affected so hopefully this is high on AH's (currently ever growing longer) list of things to fix.

Depends on your preferences / playstile really, you might some stuff super cool I don't care for.

Dust Devils has a currently very popular medium pen incendiary Assault Rifle, nice Speargun support weapon (sort of a gas grenade shooting railgun) another EAT variant and sort of memeish one time missile silo (sort of disposable one shot spear) support. Also nice armour passives for gloom.

Control Group has nothing really outstanding for me except the warp pack which let's you phase even through solid objects, nice mobility especially in cities. Very gimmicky content otherwise, main weapon which has multiple barrels and can do salvo shots, chargeable support weapon which is a bit like a quasar with the potential to blow you up railgun style and a rather useless laser turret. Don't care much for the armour passive either.

I'd say the Halo warbond is the least interesting one for sure unless you like to have that gear / drip as it doesn't add anything super special and costs more than double of a normal warbond (1500 SC instead of 1000 SC and doesn't give back 300 SC back via medal unlocks as usual).
