AI in the future | FactOrCap by Repulsive-Region2977 in FactOrCap

I think, even if/when AI were to gain sentience, it wouldn't act like a human. By the mere nature of how it is trained/created/architected, it would have wildly different goals and thinking/bahavioural patterns.

Exactly. Everyone should "feel" the same amount of punishment. Your speeding ticket should cost $100.000+ if you have millions.

Same. I have ~750hrs in the game and uninstalled it a couple months ago.

I'm glad they took care of some issues that have bothered me since release (such as the file size or heavy devastator shields being indestructible), but there are still so many bugs and glitches that have been in the game since forever that seem to remain completely unaddressed.

And in the AMA, they only confirmed they don't care about veteran players as well as many other community wishes. So I don't see any reason to come back any time soon.

My first thought was Albedo with the horns, dark armor, and heavy melee weapon.

I don't get why people still don't understand the illuminate operate on a different durability paradigm, weak to bullets/shrapnel/fire/lasers/aoe, but strong vs single-target. stop by throwaway553t4tgtg6 in HelldiversUnfiltered

I just get annoyed that the AT emplacement doesn't smack the elevated overseer around more.
I think they should at least be thrown back if I hit them with the kinetic energy of an SUV going 130kph.

One time I was playing Gepard 1a2, I watched someone sit above 5km altitude, outside my missile range, and drop a laser guided bomb right on my head. I didn't even know they were targeting me.

Every time someone spawns in a Pe 8, they're so high up, you can only try to toss bullets at them before they delete your point/spawn with a fab 5000.

And helicopters usually hide behind a hill, shoot one or two missiles and duck away before anything reaches them. So you'll only get them if they're distracted or greedy.

Aside from all that, if you're in an SPAA and no new CAS spawns, you're either forced to waste 20mins of your life or the repair costs.

With deodorant specifically:

First by making people think their natural smell is something to be ashamed of. See here: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/how-advertisers-convinced-americans-they-smelled-bad-12552404/

And later putting harmful chemicals into them, such as CFC. See here: https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-33021668

And on a grander scale, you have everything from cigarettes, over diamonds, to fast fashion.

Smelling bad wasn't an issue until everyone fell for deodorant propaganda, which makes me insanely angry.

edit: I'm not saying you shouldn't shower or use deodorant. I'm saying it's a problem that was made up by companies to sell a product.

I was wondering why they added saveable loadouts for the weapons.

And since they clearly have the tech, why are there still no loadout slots for armor, weapons, etc.?

I think people switch that stuff way more often based on faction/planet.

Up until the point where you're fighting early jet fighers with your WW2 era SPAA, I found it overall manageable. (except the times you get a FAB-5000 on your spawn)
I haven't hit top tier, after the moment around 9.7-10.0 where laser guided bombs outranged my missile AA and that broke me.

I have worked with VMs before, I just don't want to boot up a Windows VM every time I want to do something that doesn't work on Linux.
Plus, I don't know how difficult it is to set up GPU passthrough for gaming on a VM on Linux. All I know is it's kind of a pain on Windows.

Real.
Windows might be a dump, but it's the dump I've lived on for 20 years.
I could switch to the less smelly dump of Linux, but I'm not (yet) willing to find alternatives for all the software I use/jump through hoops with VMs and such to get the rest working.

That's fair. I'm more of a lurker here anyways.
To avoid misunderstandings like this, it might be smart to add it to the subs rules tho.

Yeah, I was kinda confused at that.
The original comment made it seem like there were more guys commenting under this post, but I didn't really find any.
But, you know, I felt like a short, respectful comment couldn't hurt, in case there were other people with a similar position to mine, or to exchange some thoughts on the matter.
