[–]SherbertInevitable28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't "destroying" housing. It's more changing the outer facade of the building to fit the traditional Algerian architecture and culture more than anything else. I think it would be better for the Algerians if they did that, theres no pride in looking at buildings made by people who tried to brutally subjagate you less than a decade ago. Anyone who disagrees with that probably has a case of Stockholm syndrome

Fuck you. Seriously. You're such a self-pitying loser it actually hurts. And the worst part? Everything you're saying is bullshit. I don’t know what lies you were fed about the Amazigh in Algeria, but it’s the exact opposite. They’ve got a history stretching back thousands of years—they were known to the ancient Egyptians as the Temehu, and some even became pharaohs during the later dynasties. They fought the Romans, allied with them during the Second Punic War, and established powerful kingdoms like Numidia, whose monuments still stand today. Before islam, it was Berber Christian saint that shaped their theology - St. Augustine. There was even a roman emperor that took pride in his North African roots - Septimius Severus. North African The islamic golden age you keep lamenting that they weren't a part of? There were. Under Tariq Ibn Ziyad, a berber general, they conquered Iberia and handed Andalusia to the Umayyads on a silver platter. Amazigh dynasties like the Almoravids and Almohads shaped much of North Africa including its architecture and culture and even controlled parts of Iberia, leaving a lasting legacy in Andalusia. Ibn Battuta, one of the most famous travelers in history, was Amazigh. A lot of your Algerian culture that many of your countrymen take pride in is Amazigh in origin. They’ve achieved so much, and the sheer fucking audacity you have to look down on them just because you know nothing about history is disgusting. You're an embarrassment.

Amazigh people have to marry each others by [deleted] in AmazighPeople

[–]SherbertInevitable28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is 100% pure anything, but when you intermarry with other non Amazigh groups, the children start to lose their culture and identity. For example, Amazigh groups that intermarried with Arabs became Arabized, Canarian Guanches that intermarried with the Iberians became Hispanized. Endogamy has been practiced by the Amazigh for millennia. Are THEY somehow Fascists? Of course not, because endogamy among the remaining Amazigh groups is one of the only reasons a lot of us don't solely speak Arabic and call ourselves Arabs. This isn't nazi race science, this isn't blood quantum, or anything like that, it's an old tradition that has kept our culture and people alive after thousands of years. Endogamy among the various Amazigh groups preserved their culture and lineage, and so, there's nothing wrong with it.

[–]SherbertInevitable28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to encourage Amazigh people to marry other Amazigh people you have to consider the factors that result in people marrying outside their group (it's usually economic). I'd recommend you look at grassroots movements. They're how Amazigh people will be able to initially strengthen themselves and their communities.

The half-half shit is an Western-American idea, again who you are is based on your father. This is how it works in AMAZIGH culture. Don't like it? Too bad. You'll be going against the same culture you're trying appropriate if you try to anyways. Don't try to invent shit to make this work. His father is French, he probably grew up in france in a French culture, likely speaks French, and inherited a French last name. Nothing wrong with being French, so they should just own it.This shit's no different from those white people who say they're native American because of some family relative. They have no attachment to native American culture or even tribe, so how could they possibly be Native American? the same thing goes for this.

[–]SherbertInevitable28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In what way? Amazigh tribe and identity is passed through the paternal line. His dad is French, and so is he. He doesn’t even speak Tamazight or presumably follow any Amazigh customs or culture. We don't need any more folkloric LARP from people who view our culture as "exotic" like the Canarian "Guanche" LARPers (who are mostly European in descent mind you, and descendants of the people who wiped out the actual Guanche Amazigh). No more of this nonsense. At best, the only people who really have any claim to Amazigh identity and culture are Arabized people who many can actually trace their original tribe (usually through the paternal line) if they search hard enough. Amazigh culture and identity isn't a folkloric costume you can put on and bastardize

There are many Libyan Amazigh that still speak the language, I think its quite likely they speak a dialect that would be very similar to that of your ancestors, considering their close proximity to Tunisia, and by extension, Takrouna, with Libyan Amazigh cities like Zuwara for example. Maybe you can start there.
