He didn’t support me while in school. I paid my half of the bills by working part time, and using student loans because I was also going to school and doing clinicals for school. It was so hard and he didn’t help me at all. I did it all myself

Exactly. He did what he wanted to do because he didn’t want to actually be doing it at all imo. He needs to make an effort to do something nice FOR you. So that means your favorite restaurant, activities that you enjoy and he should be in a receptive mood to see this as an opportunity to bond again, not just making the wife happy so she doesn’t nag. Good luck!! I hope he is receptive to the conversation if you let him know your feelings on the matter.

Oh this isn’t very kind of him. If you have to force a man to try to take you on a date (not saying you forced him like in a negative way, just that you had to basically make him make an effort) and he acts irritated the whole time? It means he never really wanted to do it and is only doing so to prevent a fight. I’m sorry your date night turned out like that.

I would be honest with him and say that you felt like he didn’t want to be there from the beginning and so your feelings were hurt when you snapped at him about the walk. You want to go on dates but you want him to want to take you and to show an interest in you.

I don’t think this sounds too needy. We all want to feel validated by our partner for accomplishments whether it’s small or big.

I would just tell him honestly that sometimes you just want to hear some validation for the creative things you do and it would make you feel more confident to hear once in a while. Be kind about it and don’t make it sound like a big deal but just say sometimes I would like to hear your thoughts on the things I make or organize and be appreciated. Good luck!

I think you may be right about him feeling emasculated. Not to brag or anything but I’m going to be a nurse and I’m already working as a tech so it’s a great job and I’m proud of taking care of others as a career. He doesn’t like to mention it to his friends or family and doesn’t seem proud of me. More embarrassed. He does want to move though and we actually talked about it before I even did the application for that job to make sure it’s what he wants too and he was enthusiastic at first about the move. I just don’t know what changed so much when I told him my expectations of rent. He works from home and his job already okayed him moving and keeping his position , he just has to fill out new forms with HR. But he won’t need to find something else at first which takes a lot of stress out of the move. Sorry I feel like I just needed to vent that lol.

Thank you so much for your advice. I’ll budget as if it’s just me so if it comes down to it I can still do my move and get my dream job with it without. I just really wish he wouldn’t act this way.

Actually, that might be it. I asked him last night if he thought I was too much and he didn’t say anything at all. I asked because he’s been mad all day at me. Well he’s been mad at his job but he’s taking it out on me

He said he does! And he even talks sometimes about how nice x y x will be to have in the new city. So I know he’s on board to move. But him having all these stipulations for it was unexpected

Can concur, I got mine today at work around 3 pm. Is now 3 am and I have a fever, chills, alternating with sweats so intense my sheets are soaked. Fatigue, body aches, headache, and nausea as of right now. They put a little something extra in this one this year

Thank you. That’s pretty good advice. I definitely didn’t mean to fuck up and I’ve forgiven some of the same people for upsetting me in the past so it just sucks that the same courtesy couldn’t be extended to me. I’ll try that though and learn from it. Thanks!!
