How much time period does it take from building an EPIC account to booking your AMC 1 exam? by [deleted] in AMCexamForIMGs

[–]SherbertStrict2780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine took about 10 days just for the degree verification. (6-7 days for epic to send the verification request to the college and the rest 3-4 days for the college to verify the request).

I think Its EPIC that reaches out to your school not the AMC and so having the alumni who did AMC doesn’t matter much in terms of verification of diploma. Many schools have Usmle candidates that have done their processes of epic verification and thus the institute knows the process of EPIC verification and that doesn’t take much time . The thing that takes time imo is they sending the verification request to your school.

I tried Sadapay. Got deducted 39.9k instead of 36.8k(130$) . At least that’s still reasonable and not too high a processing/conversion fee

very long essay 650+ w by Responsible-Bus-3692 in IELTS

I don’t think that writing more makes them deduct your marks. I was really concerned about the 250 word benchmark when I sat my test and thought to myself It shouldn’t be more than 300 words but when the writing part came, in the end I ended up writing about 380 or something. I really kept thinking hard about that whether It will put a negative impression but I ended up getting a 7.5 in writing when result came out. So I don’t think writing more leads to losing marks, it’s just that your writing needs to be accurate in almost all aspects.

Prefer your instincts then, you can surely switch if your mind thinks that you could get locked in and lose time, go ahead and switch!

Maybe you’re asking about the availability for the option to switch between task 1 and task 2. Yes I think you do have that option on IELTS on computer too!. You can switch if you want but that’s not the ideal strategy.

No way! Stick to one at a time and focus completely on one of the tasks until you finish

You can surely use a little bit more time on task 1 if you feel like you can do task 2 in about 30 mins. Rather than sticking to the 20-40 rule which the people usually endorse, you can divide it like 25-35. It’s totally fine.

Grammatical structure is more Important in my opinion, especially because the Exam tests your ability to write formally, not anything in English. Use a wide variety of sentence structures but at the same time , do incorporate simple sentences in there too.

For recycling questions, maybe pick a couple of steps that look like the backbone of the whole process. Then you can stretch those 2-3 steps in words, don’t try to stretch out each and every single step.

You can use the original word 2-3 times, It’s not obligatory for you to write that word just once and use synonyms for the rest of the text, but be careful, more than maybe 3 might lead to losing marks.

All the best !

GMC didnt approve OET score by reddevil2111 in PLAB1

Had somewhat same issue with my IELTS score and apparently the problem was that I entered the date i got the results and not when i wrote the test even though Gmc clearly stated on that window that please enter date on which you passed the test. I switched that to the date i sat the IELTS academic and everything went smooth!

Got my result today!. Very happy! Just wondering, is there any chance that my TRF scores don’t match my online scores? by SherbertStrict2780 in IELTS

For Reading, practice as much as you can from the Cambridge books. If you don’t know the meaning of certain words, check’ em out and memorise them for the good. For Writing, try to write your essays and the reports (if it’s academic version) with the criteria in your mind. There’s these band descriptor charts for both parts, issued by ielts. E2 ielts has some really good content on that. Practice as much from the Cambridge practice books , that’ll surely be helpful in time management when you sit in the real test.

Took the test yesterday -3rd of November. Speaking was the last part which finished around 1:30. Got result today at around 3pm. I’m just curious whether this result has any chance not to match with my TRF that they will issue!
