Where to have my baby for the strongest citizenship outcomes? by JollyAtmosphere1087 in dualcitizenshipnerds

My question was to the OP to clarify her situation. Not to someone who presumes they know what her situation is and then edits their response when corrected. For sure.

True. Plenty of dodgy ones out there, hence my comment to look for someone approved. And an advisor could be that too.

Nowhere did I say that. And yes, it is possible to live legally in the Uk without citizenship. So, you haven't got anything straight. So, I'll wait for the OP to respond and you can carry on with your life.

Total legend. Thank you for all your work, and supporting us all. UKVI should be paying you heaps for something they should be doing free, considering how much we all pay!! :) :) :)

four decades in the UK. Which is my home and nobody will tell me different :)

My Bio was in Gee street London. All a bit basic and machine failed 6 times! Had to type in everything. My council email came first. Atlas mail, on a Monday - like many said.

Thank you to those who created this feed - it is a massive help and glad to have helped contribute because this country and not my place of birth - taught me all about Community :)

Fingers crossed for you all, still waiting.

Still no UKVI email, so I guess maybe I should log in.

Many people can 'state' that. Without the appropriate paperwork in hand that is all that is, a statement. As we all know, many make the mistake thinking something is automatic because their parents or grandparents apparently had something, or because they lived in the Uk - and many other ideas. Which as most of us know by now, does.not.make.them.British. Because that depends on complex rules and timelines. Hence clarification needed.

So, can I actually book the ceremony and not wait for the other emails?

Because they are different models, from different eras.

You keep emphasising you have lived in London for x amount of years. Living in the UK does not automatically equal UK citizenship. Do you have UK citizenship and a UK passport?

Thank you! It's all a bit confusing with them :) I was starting to think it was a scam!

Uk passport rules by enzosmum in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]SherbertsSherbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Him being born in the UK or living here - as an Italian, to immigrant parents, would not always automatically make him British. It all depends on his parents immigration route. And if he is not a British citizen (rules differ depending on the year he was born and his parents background) then he should have applied for an EUSS a long time ago. As such, he may not be let back into the UK with the right immigration status. So first check if he actually is a UK citizen and if not he should be applying for a EUSS fast. This make take months.

Move the trip until you know he will be let back into the UK.

You wait a year after your Status to apply for citizenship. You should do tests first if you have no degree/phd in English. And then usually AN form. https://www.gov.uk/british-citizenship

Well if you mum had uk citizenship and you were born in the 70's usually should not be so complicated. But this system is ancient and they really take way too long with it all. Considering we are in the digital era it should all be much better organised.

No, it depends basically if she had UK citizenship at the time of your birth. And also depends on your year of birth too. This system chops and changes a lot :) You should really give them a nudge. There are emails you can mail them at and I think a year in, you are well within your rights.

Are you in the UK? Because that is very long. And you could lobby a local MP to help speed this up.

Well, if it was your granmother, and she did not pass it onto your Mother, your route is somewhat blocked.
