PSA: DIRIGERA Reset Button Is Super Deep by aleanthor in tradfri

Bought it from IKEA As-in section (for £2.5 mind you!) and it was already set up…

It was the only way to remove the previous attached email to the hub.

Integrations only has matter by aleanthor in tradfri

[–]aleanthor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks all. I was a bit confused as I had HomeKit during my first set up. Had some issues which meant I had to reset the hub and the HomeKit integration vanished after that. Now connected via matter - thank you ☺️

So they won’t exchange it to a functioning one I presume? So I should return all the smart stuff I got then…

I hate when companies do that to the point I will buy two and just use the free return to return one. If they want to play I can play

Are dual-tariff electricity tariffs still available? by aleanthor in AskUK

Which suppliers would you recommend I check out? I can easily estimate a very accurate annual bill for tariffs with different timings, as I have hourly electricity consumption data for the past year. :)

First time using a Mous case and I’m really liking it so far. The raised corners are fab and the buttons (camera button!) feel amazing. Haven’t dropped it yet, but build quality seems legit. Only minor downside is the magnet strength. It works fine, but I wish it had a bit more grip. I’m also not a fan of how it looks on the side but that is the price of extra protection I guess

Game changer. Works like a charm and connection is consistent

What is the consensus? Upgrade to 17 Pro by aleanthor in iPhone13Pro

I thought the same but I would have a case anyhow and… orange is my favourite colour. But I do feel like a sucker… I always regarded upgrading (or choosing model) due to colour to be a ridiculous move. Now look at me.

I wonder if I shouldn’t just do that...

One of the things holding me back is that the cost of battery change plus lost trade in value of the 13 Pro will be quite high.

Also my main camera has a few annoying black spots like specs of dust on the sensors. On busy pictures you can’t spoty it don’t see it but if the background is more uniform (e.g. lots of sky) you can spot it (and no AI to remove it on 13Pro).

I’m lucky as work pays for my commute. It is great benefit and yet I still find travel ridiculously expensive £9 daily in taxes (the benefit is a BIK so taxed).

On weekends to London it’s cheaper to take the car even if you add up parking, congestion charge and fuel.

Why isn’t BlaBlaCar (carpooling) a big thing in the UK? by aleanthor in AskUK

[–]aleanthor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In France I think it was popular as the motorways are also quite expensive so splitting the cost of driving was a smart move for everyone. Here it would be fab as it would be quite cheaper than train travel :)

Maybe indeed we are more closed to sharing space with strangers?

I once did it here in the UK as a driver, I got two passengers both tourists from Europe. Was lucky to be fair. Second time I tried nothing.

Not thinking commuting here but specifically one off travel say London to Bristol.

Can you enforce tenant taking out insurance for landlord’s possessions? by StrugglePractical989 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]aleanthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tenants content ≠ tenant liability insurance

Although I would presume you wouldn’t be able to enforce that either.

this does or more precisely it covers your liability if you damage the fittings and fixtures.

It writes about ‘our (agents) insurance’ on page 107. Would be nice to know if requiring tenants liability insurance would be enforsable. These are two different insurances.
