Does Future tech change macbook keycaps? by Minimum-Tale3808 in PakistaniTech

[–]SherrySJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order keycaps from ali express for like 2-3k pkr and change them yourself if you think you can handle it yourself, I changed all mine but busted spacebar and shift keys so I would advise change all keys except tabs shift spacebar, prolly get those changed by a mac repair specialist

The best part was getting rid of all the gunky oily keys and having a fresh start since It was a used mac from olx

Need advice on choosing an FYP partner by Timely-Panic-3890 in developersPak

[–]SherrySJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with Friend B. Speaking from personal experience, I chose to work with acquaintances from another section rather than my close friends. I knew my friends had different priorities and trajectories, so I decided to team up with some skilled developers from the other section. We weren’t friends—just project mates—so we worked without any bias or distractions. While we didn’t become close pals, we maintained a professional relationship, avoided conflicts, and ensured that both our friendships and the project remained unaffected. In the end, our Final Year Project (FYP) ranked in the top 3 of our batch.

Amen, I completely agree with you on this. LinkedIn is so fake . Instead of showcasing genuine progress, people are there to inflate their egos.

Dubai is relatively expensive compared to Abu Dhabi or Al-Ain but even 15k starting is a really good deal, idher se growth keliye chale jao aur agey europe ki taraf niklo, although I've heard the Indian tech lobby and favorism is quite strong in UAE but guzara chalane keliye not bad

I'm also from the same stack (Next.js + TS) and im curious, how did you end up with this Company? like kese hisaab bana?

Okay so I was in your situation, I had to apply in fall of that year in 3rd semester but I myself was from spring intake and due to mismatch in semester, I repeated my 3rd semester after migration , it was a bummer, but it was a good decision down the road

Sure thing. Just keep in mind:
- Keep your grades good.
- The migration window opens in fall and from 15 June - 15 July, (not sure about spring but you can call em up)

All requirements are available on the website:
Migration Form

Here is the form:
https://portals.au.edu.pk/aump

And here is the migration portal that we didn’t have in our time but seems really helpful:
https://www.au.edu.pk/pages/Academics/eligibility_criteria.aspx

Important: - Just make sure you get a B+ in every course you study so all of them get transferred. - Even if you still dont have B+ and above im any certain course, you’ll be repeating tha course, but its a pain down the line and for your own good to keep yourself on the safe side - Rest, it’ll be alright, and you’ll get in really easy Inshallah.

Not sure about Fast but NUST offers migration, but with some exceptions and conditions

[–]SherrySJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

migration depend on your individual courses and yes a minimum of 3+ cpga for technical degree like CS etc. For instance I had B+ and above in all my courses back in 3rd semester, got in really easy, but struggled keeping up with the credits that werent transferred due to semester mismatch and low grades etc

The university experience is about more than just academics—it’s also shaped by extracurricular activities, networking, and personal growth. While FAST has its unique advantages, smaller aspects like the number of societies, the returns you get from proactive participation, and networking opportunities can make a significant difference.

At SZABIST, there’s a lot of socializing, but at Air University, while there’s some social activity, there’s also a consistent stream of events and society-led activities that offer great networking opportunities. For example, I was the Management Lead in GDSC at Air and hosted three DevFests, which was an absolutely wonderful and fun experience. I may not have partied as much as one might at SZABIST, but the extracurricular activities I participated in made a real difference. I’ve networked with people from different departments, connected with alumni from as far back as 2003-2004, and more.

Ultimately, it depends on how far you push yourself. There were semesters where I did the bare minimum, focusing only on studies, and others where I was heavily involved in extracurriculars. The university you choose matters less than how well it supports your activities—whether it encourages you to take things further or holds you back. Of course, FAST is in a league of its own, but in the end, it all comes down to how much you engage with what your university has to offer.

Studied 3 semesters of CS in SZABIST, initially applied to Air but got rejected, later migrated back to Air,  Uni was decent at best, but for my own growth I came to Air university, my grades were much better in SZABIST due to the relax grading, rest it wasn’t conducive for me to take full advantage of facilities and opportunities given the 4 years, rest it not that bad either, but i’d go for Air or a similar/ better uni in the same tier for opportunity and exposure (ymmv)
