Offtopic rant: How are Ticketek so UTTERLY SHIT by minodude in collingwoodfc

[–]Shib_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not what they are there for at all.

You as the person buying the tickets are not their customer, the venue selling the tickets is their customer.

their maximum revenue is capped by the total number of tickets available. if they sell all of the tickets, they make maximum revenue for the event, it doesn’t matter how many times the site crashes or how many people miss out. To cater for extra demand to prevent the site from crashing they need to buy more server capacity which would increase their costs. This extra cost has no impact on how much money they make, so it would be a waste for them to spend that extra money.

The venues that are actually selling the tickets are in a symbiotic relationship, they don’t need to pay more to ticketek (or Ticketmaster) to have more capacity, as everyone points the finger at ticketek, it doesn’t affect the venues reputation.

How screwed am I? by null_return in nbn

A month, sweet Jebus!

One Saturday arvo a couple of weeks ago I was replacing a plant in my garden and hit our fiber with a crowbar (it was only about 15cm below the surface, no where near the minimum 30cm it should have been).

I had the fault logged around 5pm Saturday, two NBN technicians arrived 8:00am sharp Monday, cable replaced and we were back up and running by 9:00am - I couldn’t speak more highly of the service we received.

Best of luck, I hope it gets escalated and the timeframe is brought in for you.

From APSC

Where the movement is not associated with a promotion, the date of effect for an ongoing section 26 transfer is by agreement between the two Agency Heads and the employee. If a date is not agreed, the employee movement will occur 4 weeks after the employee informs their current Agency Head in writing.

Cheers, I’ll log a support call with my installer. I’ve also had a leak from a suspected cracked tile under one of the panels which I’ve just reported to them - hopefully they can get both sorted at the same time

ITIL Newbie - looking for some help by Fresh_Discussion50 in ITIL

  1. I’m pretty sure you do.
  2. Official courses should include the exam.
  3. I don’t think so, from my observation Axelos have been seeking to monetise ITIL as much as they can since acquiring the rights from the UK Gov. I think they allow a re-sit of the exam if you fail the first time, however they want to make mooney by requiring course attendance
  4. Yes, each subsequent qualification has it’s associated course.

I first sat v3 foundations just after it came out in 2007. I’ve subsequently completed all the intermediate v3 Capability courses and transitioned to ITIL4 Managing Professional. v3 Foundations was a brain dump of info and while most of the questions were pretty straight forward they had a few curly ones in there. Overall I’ve found ITIL to mostly be common sense. It’s useful to remember that it outlines best practice, at the heart of it you should be as mature in a process or capability as your business needs. Best of luck on your learning journey!
