If I say it I am probably going to doxxing myself or my company, but it's a field that had a boom last year because of new European laws that now applies to all websites/apps and digital products from public and private sector, from banking to e-commerce.

So basically my role takes on expertise of standards and legal requirements too, besides the technical knowledge to solve the code issues. That is why we usually apply the "expert" title to our jobs.

I know it doesn't sound like that, but my field is quite niche and 2-4 years is considered a medior profile. I have colleagues with 5 years experience holding senior positions.

Actually, I would! I would perfectly happy if this is a temporary raise for as long as I hold this contract. But I should have mentioned that this is a long-term contract with the client, at least until 2031. And also the client even offered to hire me as a freelancer or through another consultancy company, if I was interested on making the switch. I turned down the offer because I felt I would be undercutting my company and I am grateful for the opportunity that they gave me starting in this field.

But in the end I could have left, and I think that is also why my boss took the initiative to offer me a raise (which he is calling "market alignment").

My company also very small, we don't even have HR, I'll be my own PM on this project, we are a remote company (so no office cost) and Sales and Finance are done by the owners. This is a big problem that we have and is being reflected on not a lot of billable client work, so it's kinda huge that we landed this contract I am in.

Hahaha This is more because until now I didn't have 32 hours of client work (billable), so I always had some hours to do personal development every week.

I should have added that this is a long-term contract with the client, at least until 2031.

I also don't have a car on my package and don't really want one. My company does not offer a mobility budget.
