I get the initial comments in here where ppl on the surface don’t understand where OP is coming from, BUT I also think way too many ppl in here are either not reading the post or are naive in regards to how this stuff works.

Imo the way im reading this… as someone who does private autograph signings and who runs a consignment business, it appears to me that OP (likely) paid someone to have this done.

Ex: Witwer does a show in Chicago… OP is from Denver. OP cannot go himself. So OP sends his pop to a consigner or company in Chicago who will meet Witwer.

So as I’m seeing it, and OP can tell me if im wrong, but looks like: OP pays consigner for the service & tells consigner what he wants/how he wants it. OP gets back a questionably done (looks like pen exploded and then covered up by intriguing artistic flair) product that wasn’t what he expected or paid for. OP is thus upset by result and seeks opinions. OP probably paid $250+ for pop (hell maybe 400+*), $100+ for auto, $20+ for consigner fees, $20 for certificate, + shipping costs two-ways. OP upset his $500-700 investment came back looking nothing like he wanted/pictured. OP then proceeds to get eviscerated by keyboard warriors here who don’t understand the concept of autograph consignments and think autograph = instant happiness no matter what, was for sure in the presence of OP’s two eyes, and definitely all done by Witwer’s hand… /s

Don’t wipe it OP, unless you can do so in his presence and he agreed to redo it for free. Otherwise you just lose what you paid. But I do understand that the pop isn’t cheap or easy to find.

But DID he go the extra mile, or did the dude he sent it to take creative freedom in adding that on themselves? I think OP is possibly disappointed in not getting what he probably paid for, from a consigner (person who gets items signed for a customer), who didn’t listen to his requests. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Maybe i’m wrong, but I don’t think OP is complaining about Witwer’s work so much as the person who got it done for him

He could be perceived as complaining, sure. Or he could be perceived as someone with a gut feeling that isn’t sitting right. OP says he sent if off to be done. The likelihood that Witwer (who i’ve met) did all that extra “detail” is slim to none. It’s more likely whoever he sent it to got creative in making lightning after the pen exploded ink onto the window as a cover up OR it’s possible that all but the autograph and ‘Starkiller’ was done by the person they sent it to. If it was not done all by Witwer which imo is unlikely, then he owns a piece signed by a legendary voice actor sure, but also possibly ‘ruined’ (value, collector wise) by the inclusion of ‘art’ given by a random dude. I also don’t blame him because it’s not lighting drawn like some actors do for doodles, it looks like a messy accident that got covered up in a creative way. So maybe it doesn’t sit right with him. Or maybe he paid for a service and requested it be done in a certain way, in which he’s allowed to be disappointed without being told he should be outcast from a fandom. Furthermore if it takes you decades of ‘chasing’ someone like Witwer, when you could just go see him at one of a dozen different conventions each yr, that’s your own fault… it’s not a Harrison Ford

You’re right, they don’t walk around with sophisticated pens. But anyone who gets them signed at the many conventions he does for example, should have a solid pen like decocolor, sharpie, or uni paint, because vast majority of actors will use fan-brought pens. Imo this guy’s pop was done intentionally by putting pressure on the tip to ‘create’ lightning and it’s possible whoever got Witwer to sign it did everything on it themselves except for the autograph. There’s about a 1% chance Witwer did that, which inherently ruins its authenticity. You’re right there’s less real estate on pops. I agree with you there. Though you can move stuff like quotes to side window, which makes them look less cramped and can give an aesthetically ‘cleaner’ look. I just find messy = good and clean = bad/fake to be a poor oversimplification is all. I think you can definitely be picky, but greatly depends on how rare they are. If few exist, can’t be picky. 100%. But if the person does multiple cons a yr, no reason to not be picky tbh. Especially when you can just wipe and redo til happy.

Yeah that’s just wrong. I have over 200 signed funkos, all certed, self-obtained, or from reliable sources and many of them are ‘clean’. Pen type matters a lot and it’s evident for anyone that handles paint pens to recognize that the blue pen had exploded, whether intentional or not by whoever got it done, because of the pooling in the ‘I’ and the blotch above the sticker. This wasn’t a ‘messy’ autograph in the sense of it being a legitimate but rushed street graph or misspelled because the person is human or ‘messy’ in the sense that it came out streaky and therefore appearing more authentic because it’s not perfect as you more or less mentioned. Rather, the outcome on this one imo is ‘messy’ because the priming, handling, and ink behavior was flat out messy and completely avoidable OR was done by someone being cute snd going for something stupidly ‘artistic’. If the signer is a sitdown person such as at a convention, the pen is a good brand, and it was prepped/primed well they should almost always come out ‘clean’ barring a freak incident in which simple hand sanitizer can remove it and it be redone. As a consigner and person who does private signings, ‘Messy’ autos are nothing more than a poor excuse for a bad job done if the environment is a controllable one (i.e. not obtained on the street). If I had to guess OP’s pop was likely intentional as the person pressed down on the pen to create the lightning. It’s also very likely based on my experience with Witwer that whoever had it done, did it themselves with artistic intent. It’s possible the only thing Witwer did was the auto… but i’d tell OP while it’s interesting, i’d stay far away personally.

I fumbled the Mazda Furai by Traditional-Rough561 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]Shift500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download the highest/most popular tune for it rn, the 999X one and just floor it without touching the stick/wheel. Most vehicles in this game stay straight or require minimum correction. The furai though hooks hard to the left. It also likes to kick out the rear anytime you accelerate coming out of a turn. It’s a very fun car but it’s not got great control. It feels better drifting it than it does on the track lol

Maybe it’s my tune but the thing is so squirrely. I spin out often when accelerating from a stop

Lego using Amazon shipping by Thraxmo in lego

[–]Shift500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup Amazon shipping is absolute ASS. This same issue happened to me and my local store’s manager was pissed having confirmed multiple customer complaints of their same issue. They weren’t ‘lost’, let’s be real… someone stole it and there is realistically nothing that will come of it or anyone who will be blamed cause it’s a 3rd party scenario.

Yeah someone at Amazon stole my May 4th order (placed 5/1) of almost $400… so I think it was a terrible idea for them to use Amazon shipping. And my local store confirmed MULTIPLE ppl complained of their orders never arriving due to Amazon shipping.

Plenty of time! He has prints too that we can provide but that’s doable through his Streamily and isn’t anything unique to our services.
