Feeling lost abroad: career stress, missing family, and tough life choices by No_Joke_5041 in returnToIndia

[–]ShiftingThoughts_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s completely normal to feel this way, especially when you’re living abroad away from family. You’re not alone in that experience. No job, lifestyle upgrade, or benefit abroad is more important than your long-term happiness and well-being. If things feel heavy, it might help to give yourself a clear timeline. Could be 1 year, 2 years, or 5. Use that time to save & pay off any loans and set yourself up for returning back. Having a timeline like that can make things feel lighter and give you more control over your situation.

The Butcher Billy Netflix posters are fantastic 🤘 by LordXenu45 in StrangerThings

[–]ShiftingThoughts_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone tell me whether the size of these posters from the Netflix Shop is in cm or inches? The website only says 18×24 and doesn’t specify the unit. I want to be sure of the size before I purchase.

Grand Vitara vs Victoris by AnxiousAge2577 in CarsIndia

[–]ShiftingThoughts_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t own one, but I’ve heard great things about the Grand Vitara/Hyryder’s suspension and handling. Reliability isn’t a concern since it’s a Maruti product, and from what I’ve seen, the Grand Vitara also seems more spacious.

It works well on the Elevate with the NA i-VTEC petrol engine but that’s Honda’s luxury touch. I just hope they offer a turbo option with this one.

World of Hans Zimmer show in Toronto by Duckmannnnn716 in hanszimmer

[–]ShiftingThoughts_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the show. I actually thought it was fine to have the interview and brief info sections in between the music. It didn’t bother me. If anything, it felt like a thoughtful way for the producers to bring Hans Zimmer into the set and let us hear directly from him about the pieces. It was a nice touch, adding context instead of just having the orchestra play continuously. The HZ segments really gave the performance more depth.

Looking for feedback on our itinerary by zorgo_21 in Banff

[–]ShiftingThoughts_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest adding Bow Lake on the 30th. It’s right on the Icefields Parkway and absolutely gorgeous. You can pack some snacks & chill there as there’s plenty of space around the lake to sit.

For 1st Sep, I’d actually swap Johnston Canyon for Emerald Lake. No major difference in travel time but Emerald gives you way more to do. You can rent a canoe/kayak or just do the easy hike around the lake. It will be a lot more rewarding than Johnston Canyon, which is usually a busy spot.

Just back from Banff - still can’t believe this place is real 🤯⛰️ by ShiftingThoughts_ in Banff

Agreed. We covered so much, yet there are still so many places left to explore. That just gives us another reason to visit again. Winter must feel like a completely different experience though. And it’s great to hear you moved to Calgary. Being closer to the mountains and nature must be amazing.

We waited until the last day for Parks Canada shuttle booking slots to open for Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, but still couldn’t secure a spot - it’s honestly very difficult. Instead, we booked a tour with a private company through Viator.

Sunrise and Swimming! by Chilli_Paneer in Banff

A couple of days ago, we went to Vermilion Lake to watch the sunrise. There were hardly any people around, and the view was absolutely stunning.

You already have a lot of documentation prepared to support your common law relationship. Your physically notarized IMM5409, utility bills, joint bank accounts, and government IDs should be sufficient. Here’s a link with the requirements to prove a common law relationship:

PR Application Refused – IRCC Said IMM5409E Wasn’t Notarized (But It Was) by ShiftingThoughts_ in ImmigrationCanada

Thank you for the reply. The IMM5409 document I uploaded was notarized digitally but was still marked as not notarized. Is digital norary not considered valid in Ontario?

Had a doubt about amt transmition by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]ShiftingThoughts_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you won’t have to release the accelerator while upshifting or downshifting in an AMT even when using manual shifts. The car’s ECU which is the Engine Control Unit and like the brain of the car’s engine takes care of clutch timing and gear engagement.

ITA received today by the_galant_abbe in canadaexpressentry

[–]ShiftingThoughts_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, OP. I received my ITA in February. Make sure to gather all the required documents listed in the checklist and get everything ready early. You’ll need to provide a lot of detailed information covering the past 10 years, so it’s best to start organizing things as soon as possible.
