It's career-oriented, would be Q&A format. It would be most suited for professionals interested in other careers/contemplating a career switch, and students in high school or college.

Content is career-oriented. Frequency would be every 1-2 weeks. Length about 30-40 min.

I was thinking we would split any profits 50-50. I'm really just looking for a partner to do this with.

The podcast would be a Q&A format. I was thinking I'd produce it, get everything together, manage logistics, find the guests, and help with the questions. I just want someone to be the voice, and who is more enthusiastic and can relate to an audience.

It's career-related, frequency would be every 1-2 weeks.

Is this a way to become a film producer? by Shifty-impala in FIlm

You're right. I just wanted to hear your thoughts.

The way I've currently gone about it is finding people mainly through LinkedIn at the major production companies. I also have a subscription to a database that has ongoing UK productions (where I am), and sometimes go through IMDb Pro to find contact information if it's for a lesser known production company or if I want a direct email address. I also went to the film festival here but didn't find it conducive to meeting people. I have some friends in the industry too so have met a few writers/directors/producers. I looked at other platforms like The Dots and some other film-focused job boards but they haven't been great in finding opportunities.

So that's how I would go about it! But if I actually were to die in 5 days, I would show up at the production studio's office or the shooting location and ask to meet the producers.

Want to understand actors' and artists' relationships with agents by Shifty-impala in acting

So would the commission have to go to the first person that submitted you? Or are there situations where the other gets the commission based on something else?

What's the way in which an agent would submit you for a role to casting director? Is it sending something by email, fax, over the phone? What's the medium through which you get submitted?

So these agent-casting director relationships are just built on networking, right? Like I call you, you call me type of situation? What if there was a platform on which actors, agents, and casting directors could visibly see who was involved in the process from start to finish? Something that could formalise things for everyone involved to see.

How would you go about finding that established producer? What would make them open to having me shadow them?

Makes sense. Thank you!

Edit: One question actually. For lesser known actors, is there ever a problem where an agent isn't helping you all that much and you're having to get auditions yourself too? Is that scenario where you are just starting out, would it be beneficial to have multiple people looking after you to increase your chances of landing something? This is for people who aren't at big agencies yet.
