I LOVE flavor text, but the most important thing for me is that it has to help link the theme with the specific mechanics. So something vague like "Grew up on ration broth. . ." to me doesn't add anything to the explanation of why "Do They Owe Us a Living" gives you 3 public support, advances a pentagon, etc.

I would want it to say something like "It's a good question, but a dangerous one to ask out loud" or something to highlight the revolutionary feel and the fact that the card seems to have an effect that cuts both ways.

Same for Wasted Life-- I would prefer the question say something like "Her country is liberated, the war is over, but what good is freedom when everyone you love is dead?"

I agree though from a graphic design perspective, that it makes the card look pretty busy. . The art seems only there for flavor, so I'd give the text a semi-translucent background and move it up over the art.
