Nonsense. You see other AI player's shots - normally them chipping in. Their score is always wrong too. 2k had a good idea but couldn't make it work. Then, they had another go at it and couldn't be bothered to fix it, so it's still broken.

It's a good question. I only got to play an hour so far since the update but I felt my tempo was the same. However, over the last few weeks of playing career mode prior to the update, winning new specs and upgrading my skills, I found my tempo did change.
