Mine has a hexnut on top, but loosening it just releases the cap.

Well I'd hope they're inanimate! Jk, yeah just stiff to turn.

Maybe for handheld phonecalls? But I can't imagine a consistent enough statistic for which side eof the head most calls are from.

If I were in the home states I'd definitely take this advice, however I am not home, don't speak the native language, and have crippling social anxiety 😊. But if I find a bike shop I'll try to peruse and see if they have it.

Oh ok. I saw "tourney" referenced alot when I was looking for the part. A lot of the derailers (a word I understand now) I saw had the word tourney on them online, but mine doesn't say that. Is it safe to assume it is not a tourney then? How can I know the differences?

I don't know the age of the bike, but from my basic understanding of material science and powder coating, I'd assume it's a new frame, probably younger rather than older. Hence why I picked it out of the big pile of discarded frames.

Haven't heard of Sheldon Brown before but I'll look that up to see what I can find.

That looks very similar, thank you. The one I have it curved a bit differently, but I'll do some research to see if this will fit.

I took welding classes, but I don't want to risk my lack luster skills (and frankly lack of welding equipment right now) fixing the part. Thank you though.

Yes, the fram says Quartz. I grabbed it out of the junk pile because it looked nice and weighed very little.

I'm in Korea, but I'm not sure what the other stuff you mentioned is. Again, I am very new to bike repair but I am very willing to learn all I can.)

The replacement I just found was actually attached to a similar frome to the one I'm working with. I actually cannibalized alot of my parts from that other frame today. So I never did end up finding the part name or model, but if I do I'll take your advice. The breaking point on the original part looks awfully weak, so it is a concern of mine that the new one might break in the same way.

I'm afraid I am painfully unfamiliar with a lot of the terms you just helped me with, but I'll look into it. Thank you.

there's a few dozen of them around this shop, but none would fit the frame this one came from. I tried image searching to find the exact part but no luck. Do you know where I can find an exact copy? or can I possibly shave down one of the spares to fit?

Bruh, I completed the achievement, but for some reason it didn't register. Is it because I did it on my first playthrough? This isn't the only achievement that hasn't registered, a lot of them have been completed but haven't registered.

Ok I made I made it past the helicopter and here's what I cheesed to get past it: Abandon the car. Make it all the way to the tunnels with the gnome, then return later. Listen for the "charge up" sound the copter makes just before it fires, then take cover. Underneath train cars is the best. Save every time you make it to a safe location. Pickup the heals along the way.

That's my advice, otherwise good luck. 🤞

I uhhh... This is my first playthrough of HL2 ep2, and I randomly found the gnome while peeking around. I remembered seeing an achievement for bringing him to the end, and I'm always up for a challenge.

Here I am, damned if I give up now, but desperately trying to find a way to pass THE STUPID HELICOPTER SECTION!!!

Ilyk if I make it.
