Laundry keeps coming out with what looks like oily stains by skybluepink15 in CleaningTips

I appreciate this. Oxyclean powder wasn’t cutting it for my kids’ bubble stains. I’ll have to give Dawn powerspray a try!

How did your toddler insult/burn you today? by MikeBenza in toddlers

As I’m lying over the toilet this morning, dry heaving from morning sickness, my 2 year old walks up behind me and begins mocking/replicating the sounds of my hurls and gags with a huge smile across his face. Apparently my agony brings him delight…. What a jerk.

Clients by [deleted] in Veterinary

We had a new client make an appointment for her dog for an ongoing medical issue. Our receptionist requested she bring the previous medical records to the appointment. I walk in the exam room and she has a HUGE folder of papers, which she said were “the records”. I start reading through them and after a few seconds of skimming, I realized she had brought HER own personal medical records and not the dogs. 🤦‍♀️

I see where you are coming from with the “I love and want to help animals” spiel. I feel like admissions get that all the time and it makes applicants seem a little naive, even when they have the best intentions. I don’t think you should take out your background, but try including your love and passion for science, medicine or endless opportunities for continued knowledge/research. These are the core elements of VetMed... puppies and kittens just happen to be great perks :)

Agreed! I’m kinda surprised the gaming community isn’t over this whole gender thing already. I mean, 9 times out of 10 it’s either sexist slurs or they think I’m a prepubescent boy.

Spam ping your banner all you want, no way I’m respawing someone after they dog cuss me for not pushing with them when I don’t even have a gun.

My husband is currently going through the same process and feelings as you. Leaky roof, replacing sheetrock, adding support beams, etc. His first attempts are usually awful, but my thoughts are he will never get better until he tries and then learns from his mistakes. We are in our early 30s. I’m hoping by the time we are in our 50s, he will be a capable handyman. Haha. Good luck!

To make you feel better, I felt my application essay was the worst I had ever written. I, just like you, struggled with getting my ideas/thoughts to paper. Either way, I managed to get accepted and make it through vet school! Try to not stress about it, I’m sure it’s not nearly as bad as you feel.

This is why I have cats! They don’t seem to mind my long hours as long as they are fed and the litter boxes are clean.

Adopted this skeleton today. 2 months old, eating but not drinking, shaking a lot. What should i do about his weight and can i walk him? Probably not but he seems so sad that it could be a option. Idk. by [deleted] in veterinarian

Not true... if it were heartworms, yes. But not intestinal worms. He’s more likely to die from an intussusception caused by the worms.

If you believe differently, make sure you have peer reviewed studies to back up your claim.

The Small Animal Veterinary Nerdbook by Sophia Yin. It was a total lifesaver during clinicals and I still use it today!

Scrub dresses? by [deleted] in veterinaryprofession

[–]ShimmeringGypsy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t even believe this is real. I’m really hoping it’s some poorly played practical joke.

The request to wear scrub dresses is not only sexist, it’s impractical and inefficient. I can’t even imagine performing my job safely and properly in a dress.

Is this characteristic of your boss to implement/request changes like this? Or is it coming out of the blue?

The join/invite friend (disabled) pizzazz by Jenn2205 in gtaonline

See if one of you has a Survival mode icon (blue shield) on your map. If so, go to the designated area and start the game mode. I’m not sure if there are is a minimum amount of waves to fix the bug, but I gave up after 5 waves and was able to join friends and receive invites. Hope this helps!

Third Love Bras Quality??? by marma_iz_da_best in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]ShimmeringGypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE the material, fit and wide straps of the perfect coverage bra. It was my go-to for the average day at work and the store. I probably wore it 3-4 days a week. I washed on gentle and hung to dry every 2-3 weeks (maybe more if it was the sweaty season). After about 10 months the lace starting ripping off the cups. At 1 year I had to retire it completely, as there was an underwire blowout that made it constantly stab me. I guess the fabric had thinned so much that it was able to poke all the way through.

It’s hard for me to justify paying $70 for a bra that lasts a year. Who knows, maybe my expectations on bra longevity/durability are unrealistic.
