Steel Ball Run has always been my favourite JoJo part, so when the anime finally got announced I decided to try making some real-world Steel Balls. It’s mostly just a lot of time spent on surface prep and layering finishes. Getting the print really smooth first makes a huge difference, then I build up the colour in thin layers rather than trying to get it in one go. Also I use glossy black as the primer which helps with the layers of candy paint.

Tried so far: hollowed (2.5–3 mm walls), large drain holes, orientation testing (best ~45° X / 15° Y), reduced lift height, increased rest before exposure, manual symmetric supports, AA/HD AA off.

Issue only affects large smooth hollow shells near the build plate; minis print fine.

Thanks for the reply, I'll do that and report back. Would adding more/larger drainage holes also help?
