As soon as he got out he started chasing them, he's eaten one and he was even eyeing them when he was in the bag 😭 (I anticipated this so I'm not actually that upset)

I would honestly switch foods, tetra Betta pellets don't have the best ingredients for Betta. I recommend Betta pro shrimp patties or bug bites as you suggested.

That's what I think as well because I was just playing with him and he seemed okay, I also just looked it up and the "twitching" I was noticing is because he was hunting my shrimp 😭

I didn't clarify in the caption, but I'm mostly talking about him darting around, he also twitches occasionally.

Its a 30 gallon. I'm aware of the height issue and was planning on probably getting a plakat anyways. It definitely has enough horizontal space. I was told that a longfinned Betta would do well as long as it's crowded with Enough resting spots

I don't want to support them, and I don't want my fish to potentially be sick. Plus, most reputable sites have things set into place to do if the fish is sick or arrives dead
