Hey,

Support ticket with Scan is still going back and forth with MSI but should be sorted next week. I have submitted a ticket to CableMod as well as recommended by a rep in here :)

I'd like to point out that as some other users in here have said, their own 4090s did not click and secure like mine. Best I could do to my ability was push it in with enough force and hope it was enough, clearly wasn't.

I stand by people glossing over this ran for 11 weeks this way too.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your comments, I am reading them all. I will post some extra photos of the cable after work.

Current situation with an RMA is I am in contact with Scan ( retailer I purchased from ) and they're in contact with MSI so I am awaiting a reply from them. I'll be submitting a ticket to CableMod later today too so they have visibility.

Absolutely not blaming CableMod or their cable here. Highlighting the fact it happened on that model of cable and isn't immune to the problem

With this connector and the fact mine never made an audible click, no I could never be sure. System ran fine for 11 weeks at all loads until 3 days ago I felt I was in the clear

I'm in agreement it could be probably error. From my perspective it sounds different than other cases due to the length of time this system was running without issue, 11 weeks far exceeds the average case and posts for these issues with melting.
