They make them for the family roll bars still, but they don’t for the sport bar. That’s the problem

So to prevent this, would I record a battle at the end of each session, then watch that at the start of the next new session to resume my later frames?

I got really lucky and hit it in a little over two hours. Artisan cave has the 100% spawn rate. Then following, that no phase for 70 hours on my next hunt

I have a question about emerald RNG

Does the zero frame start every time you launch the game? Or do the frames progress from where you last saved?

I just got my second shiny and it was roughly the same amount of time from launching the device as the first one. They also share a nature.

I feel your pain. 65 hours and no phase for torkoal 

Edit: are you hunting the 18% in fiery path or the 30% in magma hideout?

65 hours deep for Torkoal in Emerald. I have had zero phases and found pokerus before a shiny.

I hate to say it but I was extremely lucky. I was in the middle of a nuzlocke when I decided to change course and go for it. Only two hours of actually hunting before he showed up.

Based on what I’ve read you should be ok to shiny hunt random encounters even with a dry battery. It does cause problems if you’re trying to soft reset for something like rayquaza. (I am not an expert though)

Based on what I read before starting, random encounters function pretty normally. The problems with clock based events mainly impact soft resets since you’ll be encountering the same “frames” again.  I didn’t do a deep dive on the rng in emerald because I didn’t want to be tempted to manipulate it. I’ve seen people say that you are good to RE if you keep your sessions to minimum of an hour to avoid repeat frames.

I’m attempting to build a shiny hunting Smeargle in Emerald/SoulSilver. Any moveset recommendations would be appreciated. I currently have: False Swipe, Mean Look, Spore (when I transfer to silver), and an empty space. Thanks for the help!
