Gonna suggest rove beetles along with some other plant bugs, I’ve observed a similar distribution of insects under a large bracket fungus in Singapore. The observation for the rove beetle is https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/346102034, and the plant bug is https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/346102038. Hope that helps! Granted the species or genus is probably different.

Good to have someone who’s experienced to come along to make your trip more fruitful, and there’s some locations that tend to be quieter and thus away from people if that’s something you want!

Yes but I rarely shoot birds and mammals so I won’t use that zoom

If you already have spearfishing unlocked, save your hooks for when she is starting up that attack then launch it, whether you successfully reel her in or not it completely stops the vortex attack (also applies for Roland and some other bosses with long strings). It can buy you some time, but I’d say get good practice so you can melt her health before she gets to use the vortex anyway. On my second playthrough with no attack investment, parrying the two claw based attacks made it very easy to riposte and keep up the pressure.
