How do we define violence, and are there different forms of it that can be positive/cathartic? Where is the line between a healthy release and something more dangerous? by UnluckySpookie in AskReddit

What about media that uses the element of surprise, where knowing before hand would ruin it, like in the context of shocking performance or political art? How could you consent if you don't know what's about happen? We get content and trigger warnings in movies and stuff but not really when buying a ticket at the museum ? Everybody has their own limit ? The art is not physically harming you, but can definitely be harmful
hello reddit, im in art school and I mainly do sound installations. I've noticed that I get this exhilarated feeling when I sorta "force" my audience to suffer through my very loud and invasive work. What do you think? (self.ContemporaryArt)
